They probably didn't see Octavia as a equal leader to Clarke as they were never in the bunker during the six years with her. A lot of them were saved by Clarke when they went to space and she was obviously a central leader to 'the 100' before praimfaya. They never saw the difficulties and pressures Octavia had to endure to make the clans become Wonkru. I assume, besides Clarke, that they also have no knowledge of the dark year. Octavia did offer up her life to save Indra, Gaia and Bellamy, but Monty and Harper had already saved them in the pit which she put them in, (when announcing they had saved the farm with the algae). Which she then burned to the ground (and Monty really did love that algae!). Clarke's actions are not perfect and infuriated me at times, but after Octavia tried to kill her and Madi, i can understand why she feels like she has to choose the other side. I think for those deciding the fate of the human world, they all just wanted no more war and violence. Octavia had been consumed with all the horrors of being in the bunker and becoming the red queen to survive and so for them its an unpredictable risk in how she might react to decisions going forward. I don't think the writers hated her, for me shes still the coolest character in the show! But maybe she needed to have those pressures of leading Wonkru taken away so she can find herself again.

Like she literally let Raven & Shaw get tortured, was kinda willing to let Echo die. And that’s while she’s subjecting the rest of her people to die….Octavia offers up her life to save Gaia & Indra who betrayed her, shows humility, bows to Madi immediately, saves Kane & Abby after they betrayed her sold their ppl out (Kane more so) and yet she gets NO forgiveness or empathy from the other characters. The writers HATED her so bad.

2024-03-29 01:03:14 +0000 UTCMonty is one of the great characters with a unique story arc and I took his death in a tragic but logical way. He was too kind character for this world, and therefore deserved a long, quiet, happy life. I'm glad he died a natural death, which is rare in this series.
