The kid with Gaia... who she scolded for cheering death in the Gladiator pit... is Ethan. The little boy that Jaha was caring for. Six years have passed, so he's like a pre-teen now.

The winner might get cut up or get broken bones from the fight so that means using medical supplies on them. That also means they are going to need even more food than usual to recover all the energy they used to fight as the food and water they’ll need to help their body heal the wounds.

2024-02-15 16:34:01 +0000 UTCHonestly, this fighting in the arena is so dumb and even more the training they do down there, imagine how much more energy (=food and water) you need to be fit and to train. You have very limited resources and Octavia chooses to do that... Everyone should make the absolut minimum in there, so you need less food and water.
