Oh my GOD yes it’s such a good show

The Flamethrower was the most dangerous position at that time you could get. They had to crawl directly into enemy positions and get close quarters. It had a casualty rate of approx. 92%. Normandy was a bloodbath, so many good men died, RIP to all those who lost their lives.

You commented saying that you don't know anything that Ted has been in except Cheers... you have GOT to watch all of the seasons of The Good Place!

I never blame Upham for freezing. He had never been in combat before... and wasn't meant to, carrying around a typewriter instead of a gun. He was completely unprepared... didn't have the mindset. And I actually think he's the 2nd most central story arc in the movie, after the Captain saving Private Ryan. Upham is the idealism that we start out with... that gets overwhelmed, then worn away by the horrors of war.

Another based on a true story film that I think you would love is Glory. Morgan freeman Denzel Washington Cary elwes Matthew Broderick and many others in the cast. Based on the first(?) black regiment in the US civil war. And yes I do think I may have misspelled names.
