2023-11-20 12:44:42 +0000 UTCEven though, yes, they left a lot of details out from the book, it's a pretty thick book to be fair; I think they did mostly alright with this one.. A few design choices that I disagree with, but there's no overly blatantly inserted non-book scene that is completely nonsensical.. My biggest book-to-movie change is with both the Death Eaters and Order members just flying around as dark or light 'beings'.. I know the probably did that as a more cinematic 'cool' visual thing, but flying around without an animal, broom, or other accessory wasn't something that just anyone could do.. Also, this is where wand fights start to decay for me into just gunplay with sticks..Stupefy is described in the books as a 'jet of red light'..When it's used in the training montages, it has little or no color at all..And anytime Harry and company uses magic without shouting out the spell..Well 5th years don't know how to do that yet, and it's irksome to me when it happens.. The whole Sirius 'falling' into the archway effect thing that they do, just looks awful to me; it ruins the moment for me.. But this movie did win the Visual Effects Oscar and I think that the Dumbledore\Voldemort fight is still probably one of the best wizard fights ever..Even though they drastically changed the fight from the book, I think they did a good job on it.. I'm also a bit harder on this one, because I like book 5 a lot..

2023-11-20 03:34:36 +0000 UTCEven though the prophecy is heard in Emma Thompson / Trelawney's voice in the movie - I don't think that's clearly apparent to all viewers (who haven't read the books). Nor the connection that it was she who originally uttered it. Why didn't they put that in? It explains so much as to why she's at Hogwarts.

At a book signing with JK Rowling, JK promised her that if she got better she would let her audition for one of the movies. She did and got the part of Luna. 2. In the scene with Neville and Belatrix at the end Helena Carter accidentally punctured his ear drum in one of the takes after putting her wand in his ear. 3. The screams after Sirurs death were a result of Danielle Radcliffe letting loose after the loss of one of his grandparents. They were muted because they found them too chilling, it caused both the actors of bellatrix and hermione to cry. 4. Throughout the movie Umbridges outfits get more and more pink to show her further descent into evil

Should've included a Trelawney flashback for delivering the propecy though. And that the prophecy could've originally, potentially applied to more than just one child born.

I love her character bc witchy or woo woo people are mocked here in the muggle world but it shows that the equivalent exists in the magic world too. My sister is 100% Slytherin and she's the sweetest person I know 😊

2023-11-17 22:53:31 +0000 UTCWatched this first thing in the morning lol thank you guys for consistently delivering the Harry Potter content, it's amazing getting to relive it with you! This movie always hits so hard for me because I empathize so much with Harry and his pain. A lot of people get frustrated with Harry both in this movie and the book because of his anger and how keeps trying to push away his friends. And it's even worse in the books. But a lot of people don't understand the PTSD, depression and guilt on top of the mental torture from Voldemort he's going through. I'm glad you guys clocked onto that early. I just want Harry to have peace lol Umbridge is universally hated and often times even more than Voldemort! She's truly evil. I think she's so much worse because she's not fiendishly evil like Voldemort who wants to take over the world, she's a generally normal woman who's just vile to her core and gets sadistic pleasure out of torturing kids. Luna is a sweetheart, I'm glad you love her! And Harry really stepped up as a teacher in this movie I love it. There's SO much left out of this movie compared to the books (again after movie 2 that's the case for all these movies, the books are just SO full of information and plots its impossible to adapt it all). But honestly, besides things that are more important for characterization and world building, the biggest pieces of information and action were covered very well in this movie. Can't wait for next month, The Half-Blood Prince is one of my favorite movies!

The archway is basically a door to the afterlife, you die if you pass through it, that chamber with the archway is a place where wizzards study death, in the department of misteries there is also a chmaber for love magic with a fountain of love potion, a chamber of brains in jars and others. In the book Umbridge reveals that she sent the dementors. Also Voldemort is more powerful, Dumbledore is saved by his phoenix, it takes Voldemort's curse and dies and then is reborn from the ashes. They could have made 2 movies for Goblet of fire and Order of the phoenix both with all the material.
