The incredibles is my childhood, I remember how much I was such an incredibles fan. I even bought all the incredibles video games except for the Lego variant. I went to see the incredibles in theaters when it first came out, I begged my mother to go to the movies. I also begged her for the video games too. I remember one specific scene that was in the game but wasn’t in the movie and that was dash’s first day at school, and “oh boy” 😂 that was one hell of a way to start your first day of school, in the video game they made the gamer run to school instead of taking the bus, so dash is zooming like a race car dodging traffic and trucks. That level was so stressful because dash is so fast and gets faster as the level goes on so it hard to keep track and I end up bumping into cars and failing the mission, my older brother had to beat that level for me cause I kept failing. The sequel incredible game came way before the second film but I assumed a second incredible film wasn’t planned to be in the works because the sequel of the incredible game was the only continuation of the incredibles. It was kinda odd way to continue the story through the game, I remember it was a continuation because the villain at the end of the movie (the mole with a massive drill, the underminer) you fight him in the sequel of the video game. But the main protagonist was Mr incredible and frozo like a co-op style game. But I remember the greatest cheers of the movie in theaters was dash realizing he can run on water, every adult was vocal and loud in that scene, the adult next to me was crying tears of joy and clapping it was such a surreal moment. The incredibles is so very beloved by adults and children equally for once in my personal experience mostly kids enjoy kid movies more than the adults. But that was the first time I witnessed adults freaking out over a movie or a scene where they are clapping, cheering, and crying. Just the amount of praise went on in that theater room it’s a moment in your life that forever sticks with you.

Yeah fun fact the sequel didn't release until 14 years after the original. I was 10 years old when this one came out and 24 when I saw the sequel so it was really nostalgic seeing the characters return after so long. This movie holds a special place in my heart as I remember seeing it with my siblings and parents as a child.

Jason Lee plays Syndrome, not TJ Miller. Lee is an interesting actor, had a lot of supporting roles, a TV show in the 2000s called My Name is Earl, and also used to be a pro skateboarder. He was in a movie called Almost Famous you both would like.

Nathan Hill

This one is even better imo

Han

My favorite animated film is Zootopia.

Cindy

Yeah cause we all know your into the children stuff

Shelley

I’ve put it on the list but it didn’t win

Han

I think you would like Monsters Inc. from Pixar!

If you want to see what happened with babysitter and Jack Jack watch "Jack Jack Attack" - it's a 5 minute movie. Second "Incredibles" are not nearly as good as the first, but worth watching once (has some good scenes). There is an obvious "woke" stench on it, but bearable.

Scarlett Monrow

Today is the 19th anniversary of this movie btw

Webster

Love this movie. You guys have to watch the 2nd one, digging into Jack Jack's powers

Keyuana Gray

This was the first Pixar movie I ever watched when I was younger. It’s a really fun movie it’s like PG James Bond but with some dark humor. Like we straight up saw people get pulled into jet engines, I hope you guys can get around to the second one at some point

James

Great movie, I just feel a lot of adult still love it because of nostalgia. Graphics and animation are GREAT especially for the early 2000’s, and superhero’s having generally realistic personalities is also nice. Just not anything that sets it apart nowadays. I’d give it the benefit of doubt, it’s definitely enjoyable and worthy of a rewatch or a first time watch if you’ve never seen it.

Sydney Elizabeth

You will really love Inside Out, Coco, Encanto, Wall-E and Soul I think. All Pixar.

Love this movie, Dash & Frozone were always my personal favorites, Edna too! Love all the characters though. I grew up with this film so things become even funnier now that I understand the adult jokes that I didn’t understand as a child 😆. Always loved the story and thought the characters were unique! The emotional beats were very well portrayed in each scene, the score was top tier and the writing was great, definitely my favorite pixar film!

The Incredibles is a classic, I have so many fond memories of this movie. This is probably my favorite Pixar movie as a whole, everything about this feels very well balanced in its maturity and message. This is a great representation of a family dynamic. It's not subtle at all, but I love how their powers reflect their characters. Helen, as the mom, has stretching powers because mom's are often expected to stretch themselves to the limit trying to handle everything. Bob, as the dad and head of the household, has strength as dad's are always expected to be the strong ones for their families. Violet, with her invisibility and force fields reflecting both the teenage feeling of being unnoticed and the desire to push others away. Dash has super speed because he's the young one, full of energy. And the baby Jack-Jack, a literal Jack of All Trades, has all the powers because he's a baby and his future potential is unknown. It's so silly, but so funny and heartwarming and even as some pretty awesome action and is very well-written. This may have been the movie to kick start my Marvel obsession and I had no clue lol
