FIRST TIME WATCHING Inglorious Basterds 2009

Comments

This is historically incorrect

This was so awesome to watch with Trin's french, teaching me things I never would have caught on my own. And ive seen this movie like 5 times lol

blorgins

Thank you for these reactions! Christoph Waltz is truly a joy to watch. He's fantastic in everything. And Brad Pitt is always a good time. The old Mexican standoff is something else that Tarantino frequently writes into his scripts. Depending on how far down the Tarantino rabbit hole you guys end up going, you'll see that he's done a lot of collaborations with another director, Robert Rodriguez. You'll always see Mexican standoffs in the films they both had a hand in. And as a horror fan, I'm sad you didn't seem to recognize Eli Roth, the Bear Jew! Maybe you have to be more of a horror nerd to recognize him since I believe he directs more than anything. :P It was also funny that you mentioned 'The Walking Dead. Norman Reedus's partner was the actress who played the actress.

Thank you for this! IRL I am not a violent person, but Inglourious Basterds is such a wonderful revenge fantasy.

Calbah

I wanted to see this movie way back when. I thought it would be more comedic think back to the trailers I saw back then. So, I was shocked by the bleakness of the film, yet I enjoyed it thoroughly. I am jealous that you two can pick out subtle things in accents. I will chalk it up to me living in the United States vs than in Europe. Lol.

Anthony Ancona

Kill bill vol 2, then django unchained next πŸ‘πŸ½

Whatitdoo38

The tension in almost every scene is insane. Big fan of this one.

Alyssa Dyson

Love it! But are we getting a Loki episode today?

Jacob

First time I saw this movie, I didn't like it. I thought it was making fun of WW2 and Hitler's demise. But after watching it a second time and really listening to the dialogues that Tarantino is famous for - I really appreciate this movie.

Scarlett Monrow

OMG :( glad you are back <3

I am Jewish and I love this movie. Shoshana is a wonderful heroine and such a great actress, that scene in the restaurant when she's just trying to hold it together and he leaves is just so well done. Tarantino's alternate history movies are great. You definitely have to check out Django Unchained and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Great reaction Rob and Trin!

Junie Tunes

I can forgive Tarantino for the weird feet stuff, because he can really raise the tension of a scene.. I can't do extreme gore, like the scalping scenes, but gotta love killing nazis..

Superpotroast

Django Unchained and Kill Bill 2

Joe Lazarus

0:28:17 - that's Tarantino himself getting scalped.

Scarlett Monrow

You guys definitely have to watch django unchained next!

Pemo7216

I'd also add Gedeon Burkhard (also in this movie) and Franka Potente (not in this movie) to that list. There are also some very well known Austrian actors that are not that well known in Germany and that might also be the case for Switzerland.

Anatol

Yes!!

Jenny Lee Villanueva

awesome reaction you guys, i think this was one of my favorites of yours lol. it's impossible to predict anything in this and tarantino isn't afraid to do alternate universe endings to real life things so just when you relax like oh well we know Hitler didn't die there, BOOM, hitler does die there in a gruesome way for the ultimate shock haha. can't wait for Django Unchained and Kill Bill 2. oh and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Vonnie Stewart

One of my favorite movies! So happy you watched it. I also really love Tarantino's movies "Django unchained" and "the hateful eight."

Reverend Jim Jones

Rush is one of my all time fav movies

Schmaster

django unchained is also a great movie by tarantino, hopefully it will be voted eventually

Agnes

More Tarantino, please hehehe. My favorite From Dusk Till Dawn 😜 hopefully wins future poll soon

Jenny Lee Villanueva

Spotting Sherlock's pipe in the first scene would make Tarintino very happy indeed

Zebraa

Fun fact, Diane Kruger (Von Hammersmark) is Norman Reedus's long time partner. Also, the actor who plays Hans Landa won an Oscar for his role in this movie

Maggie Barbour

Til Schweiger (Hugo Stiglitz), Daniel Brühl (Fredrick Zoller), Christoph Waltz (Hans Landa) and Diane Kruger (Bridget von Hammersmark) are basically the most famous German actors in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. 😁

Nadine πŸ‡¨πŸ‡

Christoph Waltz is a fantastic actor, and he plays a lead role in the next Tarantino movie after this one, that i hope you guys also react to, Django Unchained.

PhoenixReturns

Love this movie also πŸ₯³

Simon

Daniel BrΓΌhl, the actor who plays Zemo, is actually a polyglot; he speaks five languages.

Dude

Tarantino movies are just the best, really glad youre getting through them, hope you do em all! I love dialogue heavy, heavily stylized movies and he does some of the best.

PhoenixReturns

TRUE! But only meant he kinda looked Latin. Meant no offence, out loud thinking ❀️

I'm sorry, but look Jewish? It's a religion, not a race? I know there certainly is a stereotype, but what exactly does a jewish person look like lol? Should maybe omit that part from youtube, i fear some backlash for you ahah. I certainly knoiw there is zero harm meant but some may take it the wrong way. love you guys though, just stood out to me as an 'oops' moment

PhoenixReturns

One of my favorite Tarantino movies. I'm so excited! πŸ₯³
