I got some sleep, so I can give a clearer summary of what’s been done and what still needs to be done. The game is playable, with a pool of around 40–45 random events. However, before it can be considered the official 0.01 version, I still need to add a few things: an option to send companions on night expeditions, the ability to use steroids, and the ability to read books to improve stats. Currently, there are 5 companions available to unlock. Once unlocked, companions remain available in future playthroughs if you manage to build the radio and contact someone who rescues you.
At the moment, I’ve added 6 different NPC types: white, black, and Asian women; white and black men; and a trans character. Everything is labeled clearly enough that there’s no real need for a toggle in the settings to disable specific content, since you always have multiple choices when interacting with NPCs. You can help them, fight them to boost your stats, or strike a deal that starts a small NSFW mini-game. As for adding your own gifs/mp4s to the game, in the next version I’ll prepare a README file in the game folder explaining exactly how to add your own scenes for personal use, or how to send them to me so I can include them in the official game.
How will game development look going forward?
Adding new companions so players always have something to unlock as a form of progression.
Adding new daily events. There will definitely need to be a large pool of events grouped by player reputation: negative reputation, neutral (always available), and positive reputation events. The more events with choices, the better, so that each playthrough feels unique and not repetitive.
As mentioned, implementing a system for sending companions on night expeditions. This way the player can stay in the bunker, sleep, and avoid the risk of being defeated in combat.
That’s how things stand right now. The current plan is to give you a week or two to get familiar with the test version and collect feedback and suggestions. In the meantime, I’ll be working on a new update for Destroyer (the casino). Once the casino update is done, I’ll add another batch of ~20 random events and 1–2 companions to Condemned Bunker, create the system for sending companions on expeditions and displaying their stats, fix any bugs that come up, adjust game balance, and then release the official 0.01 version.
