Hello friends!
I’ve decided to split all the updates I have for you today, so let’s start here with the status of the new game. I’ve already completed quite a lot, but there’s still some work left to do:
Creating the companion characters and their scenes
Creating a large pool of random scenes for interactions with generic NPCs
I’ve made 40 random daily events, but I still need to add the appropriate graphics/GIFs
Trading system (I’m planning to do it today)
Daily interactions like naps, showers, etc. (I’ll try to add those today if time allows)
Yesterday, I managed to finish the crafting system and expand the location map for night expeditions in the game, featuring different enemies, varying levels of danger, and different loot. A few days ago, I refined the turn-based combat system - now enemies have their own graphics and you attack them simply by clicking on their avatar. As far as I can tell, I’ve already implemented all the core mechanics and logic - now it’s just a matter of creating scenes and adding the visuals. Things are really starting to come together.
For the test/demo/v0.1 version, I’m not planning to add a ton of characters or content, just the bare minimum needed for us to play together. That way, you can give me feedback on what to tweak, expand, or change. Adding more characters and scenes is easy, the key is to first make sure the core game works properly and the gameplay feels good.
That’s it for the new game update!
