Avatar (2009) - Movie Reaction!

Comments

When I first watched this I didn't know a Dances with Wolves connection so the movie was a lot less predictable for me, too bad it was ruined for you by hearing that connection. James Cameron plays World of Warcraft and I see a lot in this movie that could have been inspired by the game.

Korivex

I just caught this When will you be doing the second one? Asking for a friend

jac jacob israel

I can rewatch this movie a 1000 times, LOVE IT

Elena de Haan

When will you react to the second one?

Cliff

Cry more this movie is a masterpiece

Han

I completely disagree the first time I watched it I found it boring and now it’s a movie I could watch every month and love it each time

Han

I thought the same thing 😂

Anthony Fioravaniti

There is new movie suggestions, the last post. You can suggest your in comments. You will figure it out along it goes

Count Monte-Cristo

I find Avatar mostly overrated. (I feel the same about Titanic.) It was fine for one watch, but nothing to ever draw me back. Lots of pretty colors though. But story-telling wise? Over-inflated specialness for an anvil-licious plot. Plus, how many main human female characters were there? And how many died? Shouldn't have killed Michelle Rodriguez. No thanks, James Cameron. I'd rather rewatch Terminator.

BadCode

I've been waiting so long for this.

Sometimes his stories and plots are derivative or not great, but they're not bad. However, if there's one thing James Cameron does extremely well, it's advancing technological filmmaking. From Alien, to Terminator, Terminator 2, to Titanic. With Avatar it wasn't just the CGI and mocap which had been around for a long time before. It was also the 3D which before Avatar was mostly a gimmick (in mainstream movies at least) for horror or jump scares. Avatar's 3D gave the world depth and immersed you in it. It jumpstarted the modern 3D era. I do recommend Dances With Wolves. The bare bones of the story are very similar, but it has a completely different feel. It's also a very beautiful visual movie. Also stars Mary McDonnell who I know you loved as Laura Roslin in probably her best acting role.

Not me actually gasping when i saw this pop up 😂 i just know yall are going to absolutely fall in love

Trudy being the hottest tomboy ever?? Rob, how will explain that to Rosita?

Maggie Barbour

The actress playing Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) is the same actress that plays Gamora in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

When this came out the 3D was groundbreaking. It was filmed in IMAX 3D and not some conversion 3D like a lot of other movies. Seeing this in the IMAX 3D was such a great experience. I especially loved the subtitles floating off the screen when they were speaking Na’vi.

Leah B

Wooo! Now you gotta do the sequel the way of water =P

Kaylee Smeaton

Great reaction! And sure, this movie has much of the same moral feel of Dances With Wolves. But Costner’s greatest film is a work of art that has never been matched. Much like Lord of the Rings, it is a film that once you see it you will kick yourselves for not watching sooner. Simply a masterpiece. PLEASE try to fit it in!

I love Avatar, I think you will also. How do I request a movie to be reacted to? Or to be considered? I have not seen anyone react to "K-Pax" yet. It's a great movie starring Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges. For me, it's up there with Forrest Gump.

Spooky Dooky

Aloha Team! You know me as "Nomis" on Youtube. I'm glad to finally see your full length reactions! I have alot to catch up on.

One of the best cinema experiences for me right behind the 2nd Avatar. I saw it in IMAX 3-D in 2009 & was absolutely blown away by the visuals & the 2nd blew me away even more! Can’t wait to see your reactions to them 😄!!

Jack's World

Definitely a love or hate movie for most people. I personally am not a huge fan. I really liked it the first time I watched it but it has close to zero rewatchability for me. I tried rewatching it before the second one came out in cinemas and had to stop halfway through because of how boring it was. That being said your reaction to it makes it very watchable and enjoyable.

Max

i think i read somewhere that 2/3 of the movie was CGI and the 2nd one only has a few shots that arent CGI

Superdork3k

They won't I will vote for it

Kim Magee

I was lucky enough to see this in the cinema in 3D, first movie I'd ever seen that used 3D the way it should, for depth rather than trying to throw things out of the screen at you. Those floating mountains look even more amazing with depth.

PsYcHoKiLLa

I totally agree with you, but not gonna lie, your comment read like an advert.

Some people either love or hate this movie I am one of the people who love it, sure the story can be a bit simple and predictable, but you don't always need a super in depth story all the time, the movie has heart and a message to tell that we can still relate to even now, Avatar 2 is available to purchase on Amazon digitally for 20$ which I would say is worth the price if you really like the first one, can't wait to see your reaction to it in my opinion its as good if not better than the first.

Josh B.

I can't wait to see this! I really hope you guys liked it. Have an amazing day Rob and Trin.

Devin

Oooooh Please do watch Dances with Wolves! I know it's long, but I don't think you will regret it.

Bradley Weeks

Oooooo this is gonna be gooood!! Great pick Rob & Trin 🫶🏽
