The Walking Dead: S8E10 The Lost and the Plunderers - First time watching!

Comments

This episode is just as heartbreaking as the last two episodes, lol I know this is a war but can we stray away from death for a moment. I'm trying to laugh the pain away, we need a break from seeing people dying except for the saviors. their deaths mean nothing to me.

Carl

It is so so fresh in Ricks head that he has just lost his whole reason for carrying on and making a life worth living because it was all for Carl. I completely understand why he couldn’t read the message from Carl and it was easier to read the message to Negan because it give him more of a reason to hate him. I feel like earlier on in the season when Rick keeps telling people that we are going to lose our loved ones he never thought it would be Carl and instead of dealing with the grief of losing his son, who he fought so hard to find and then look after, he puts all of that energy into hating Negan even more. He can barely think about Carl or the letter her wrote to him but to then hear someone blame him for the reason why Carl is dead must be crushing to him. Honestly a beautiful episode which truly shows how everything Rick did had Carl in mind. He spend so much time trying to help him get over the death of Lori that he didn’t realise he lost himself along the way. Another amazing reaction from you guys. I love the walking dead because it really does make you analyse why people do the things they do and with the pressures of a zombie apocalypse how small decisions that the characters make, could end them. There isn’t another zombie apocalypse movie that deals with these situations and where you can’t choose who’s right or wrong in a situation and they have done that since episode one. As much as people hate this season I also feel like it is needed. There aren’t too many main characters that get killed off and even though I understand Carl was killed in an annoying way, this exact thing would happen in real life, you can be prepared to the ends of the earth but you can still be bitten by a zombie. I feel that the characters including Carl forgot the dangers of the walkers because there were people (Negan) who posed more of a threat

Harriet Harvey

Rob and Trin, did you notice how Jadis is now speaking in complete sentences after the trauma of losing eveyone in her group?

Driver ED

He does see them as humans, like tylor said if they were slaves they would’ve been on the fence and in a room like Daryl was, he sees them like vassals who need to contribute to their overlord with no leeway within the rules

Richard Ortega

If Rick and negan were allies they could’ve tag teamed whatever else came up would’ve been cool to see too

Richard Ortega

The world beyond is a 2season bit to watch it will help with a major happening in the future .

Somehow I didn't notice the first time I watched this episode, but the scene of Jadis eating apple sauce from the can. Today for the first time I noticed the three-ring symbol on the can lid. It's a mysterious symbol which appears over and over going forward in this series and also in FTWD. Keep your eye out for it.

Driver ED

I totally forgot this episode and I really loved it. That ending call was something I remember. It was very obvious that Negan was so hurt and took it out on Rick. The growing tension between Negan and Simon is also great. The scene with Jadis understanding what exactly she did to herself. It's great to have a rewatch because this episode was a forgotten gem for me

He sees them as humans he tries to detach himself from emotional connection with people outside his group. They are not slaves. They have free choice free will. Negan would have them working the fence if they were slaves. You don't understand the character or psychology of him.

Tylor Smith

Negan does NOT know what simon did

Tylor Smith

To be fair if I was Rick I don’t think I’d be able to honour Carl’s wishes, at least not straight away. I’d be a mess too. Love the conversation he has with Negan.

Luke Fitton

Oh sweet summer child lol

Calling them resources is a crazy way of calling them what they actually are: slaves. He keeps saying that he saves people but that doesn’t make any sense if his goal is to make them work and provide for him. Negan doesn’t see people as human beings, just something he can abuse/manipulate to serve him hand and feet.

Pat McConnell

You seemed to think Negan knows what Simon did, he doesn't know...yet. He also specifically told Simon to handle it differently, one death as an example, no more, like they normally do. At the forest clearing, Abraham WOULD have been the only death, if Daryl hadn't done what he did. Negan sees people as a resource, the last thing he would want is to lose them all.

PsYcHoKiLLa

Andrew Lincoln's acting in this episode is phenomenal, he really portrays his grief well

Amanda

Whether Rick was there or not he wouldn't have stopped Carl from doing something stupid even as a little kid half the time they didn't know where Carl was even when they didn't have a Fortress around them

Kim Magee

I get you starting to care about Negan. I did, too. It's definitely an uncomfortable and interesting place to be, since he's supposed to be the villain. Like can you imagine ever feeling any kind of sympathy for the governor? No way.
