Better Call Saul: S6E02 Carrot And Stick First time watching!

Comments

One thing the show has shown us is that Kim has an iron will. Examples: the phone call montage to get Mesa Verde; nearly working herself to death before the car crash; walking home 3 miles with the cello.

The scene between Eladio, Hector and Fring is so tense, I loved it. Trin continues to amaze me with her recollection of details πŸ‘

I've been trying to tell Rob & Trin that Howard is a horrible person. We're all fooled by his designer suits, his perfect hair, and his gorgeous physique. But that's the complete totality of his value. As a lawyer he's unimpressive, and as a person he's cold and vacuous. We've had hints of trouble in his marriage β€” he's seeing a therapist. So even the people closest to him don't like him. Kim deeply loves Jimmy (despite the fact that it's hard for outsiders to understand), and Howard insulted both her and Jimmy in Kim's last meeting with him. This whole plan flows right from that. While it may have been 2 years between seasons 5 and 6 for the audience, it's literally the next day for the characters. So I don't think there's a sudden change in Kim's character or behavior. It's always been there, and she's running off the adrenaline of her last meeting with Howard. And Jimmy might be hesitant but he doesn't need a lot of encouragement to prank Howard.

Trin continues with that good memory and attention to detail, in this final stretch everything is important!

Also Trin is right, Kim has been subtly built to this point for the entire show. They've shown us that Kim hates corporate types like Howard, who she also has personal issues with, and that she likes the art of the con, and conveniently she has a perfect rationalization to go after him: The sandpiper cash. Jimmy has been against since it first came up, and he had just had his desert incident like a week ago and is dealing with severe PTSD. Jimmy was also about to leave Kim in the season 5 finale and she kept changing the subject with ideas about Howard, so that could also be adding to her reasoning for all of this

his interactions with Kaley will forever be some of the most sweet, genuine stuff of legends ever lol. i adore them

The guy watching Nacho was hired by Gus, the twins showing up to get him was a result of Don Jaun finding the envelope. That was Gus's plan all along, Lead the cartel to nacho, they bust into his room, he shoots just like he was told, and he dies in a firefight he can't win. Had Nacho not noticed the watcher he would have been screwed.

Tbf mike wasn't that cold either. Lots of affection toward jesse, not to mention kaley and making money for her

"i thought mike was cold" in breaking bad; well we all thought saul was a despicable douche lol....that's the whole point of Better Call Saul...their backstory of awesomeness. no one expected saul/jimmy to be ANYONE to root for
