Thank you! I was never able to figure that out. I watched it more than once since I loved the movie way more than I thought, especially with how they skipped many parts of his re-lived days and only showed the more important things. So I didn't get bored. But somehow I totally forgot about the 24 hours and never thought about the fact that he died way earlier this time. I just wondered why he woke up that early in the movie at the end. And yes, I don't care if I know what will happen at the end (the story up to that point can still be interesting). I wanna have a happy ending and it's so funny to me that Rob is the same as me when it comes to the point of "kiss already". Maybe it's because I read fairy tales as soon as I could read or because I grew up with Disney and in many of those there is a kiss involved (if not in the fairy tale, than in the Disney version), but I want that moment in a movie. I think my favorites are action/adventure movies with the right amount of comedy and at least some romance. In pretty much every genre (except an actual romance movie) I like it when it has a smaller romantic side story like in this movie. There are some sadder movies that I do like, but I really have to be in the mood for those and with most of them I would like them even more if they had a completely unrealistic happy ending where all of my favorite characters are still alive.

2024-02-17 04:24:07 +0000 UTCPersonally, give me happy endings. I'll never understand how everyone dying makes a better movie. But, in my view, the ending reboot makes perfect sense. We saw Cage absorbing the Omega's essence when he was dying... so he inherited its ability to automatically go back 24 hours. And since the raid at the Louvre was before the invasion... he went to an earlier reset point. (With the alpha blood, he went back 24 hours from his original death on the beach. Going back from his second real death at the Louvre, puts him much earlier. The omega stays dead regardless... just as the alpha stayed dead, never reappearing in any subsequent returns to that same beach day. Same applies to the Omega... going back, it's still dead.)

2023-02-20 23:49:41 +0000 UTCThis was actually my first Tom Cruise movie believe it or not, and im probably going to get chased out of hear by a mob with pitchforks but im pretty sure this is the ONLY Tom Cruise film ive seen π But i loved it so much, and im glad R&T did too :)

Next time someone says that good manga adaptations are impossible, tell them about Edge of Tomorrow to make them quiet, it works quite well if they already know it haha
