Iron Man 2008 - Movie Reaction!

"I'm a DC fan." I knew I liked Rob for a reason XD. I also prefer DC in general (Batman the most), but I do also like Marvel. The Avengers and the MCU is fun and all, but I think X-Men was my personal favorite Marvel franchise. I just always loved the premise of it. Anyway, I'm looking forward to starting this reaction series.

Not the biggest MCU fan but this film is such a strong beginning, i felt more invested due to the perfect mix of realism and comic book influence that this movie has. Very dark too at times. Also just want to mention how badass the mark 1 suit is that tony uses to escape.

I have not posted any spoilers. I am recommending a good show starring a character to whom they have already been introduced along with the agency for which he works. If they are going to watch an MCU movie once a week or so, they will have seen everything before there are any conflicts with S.H.I.E.L.D.

Yes they are look the MCU order on google. They are both on it. Why wouldn't they be? They are part of the MCU phases. Not sure where you get they ain't.

I actually prefer S.H.I.E.L.D to the MCU movies to be honest. Especially the M-She-U movies they have been crapping out recently.

Thats such an old view, that would be valid if you stop at after Phase 3. Since Marvel Phase 4, they picked it up again. If you want to get all the references you need to watch Hulk.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is an excellent show. I'd be so up for that. It has that Whedonesque humor and pacing that I think R&T already like, being fans of Firefly.

That government agent Coulson is the main character in the Marvel TV series "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D". I highly recommend that you watch that series. You will love it.

I tried getting into the MCU way back when. I saw Iron Man and a few others, but I had no concept of this Universe, and I was overwhelmed trying to keep up and how each film fitted together with the others. During Covid-19, I did watch Wandavision, and I thought now was the time to try to do the MCU, but then I got overwhelmed again because of the different ways to watch the films so you can get the most out of your viewing experience. I tried other reactors, but with you and Trin, I feel like we are in the same boat going in blind, but excited about what comes next. I always feel like I am at the theater with friends when I watch something with you. You make life enjoyable no matter the show we are watching. Cheers to you and Trin for a great 2023.

I kind of agree, but they also have a responsibility to live a life and be happy, Tony started very out of control, but he did the right thing, with major risk to himself, what I love about stark is we see him mature over the years slowly :)

I remember watching Iron Man cartoons on TV as a kid and when the announcement came out that RDJ will play Tony, I was really surprised and unconvinced. But after the first 10 minutes - RDJ was Tony for me. Great time watching this movie and that's even though I didn't like the character of Tony Stark. I can't stand geniuses that waste their potential on drugs, booze and women. If you are so smart and rich, you have a certain responsibilities before the world.

Robert Downey Jr was perfect casting for Tony Stark and his charisma is - I think - a big part of what makes the Iron Man movies so entertaining. Can’t wait for the next one!

Hey Trin not to be nosey but I caught Rob's comment asking you what they where saying at the start of the film. Can I ask how many languages you speak? Obviously by your accent you're not British 😅 but you speak so fluently. Sorry if that's nosey. I just find that so cool. I've learnt/learning sign language for my little boy as he's non verbal so I'm obsessed with spoken and unspoken language at the minute. My daughter has Spanish lessons every week too, I want her to have possibilities when she grows up.

Great movie and the first 30 to 45 min. are in my opinion a fantastic example of nearly perfect writing and pacing of a movie!

Believe it or not, I only discovered them last year XD I tried Iron Man and Thor when they came out but never liked them, it will be more fun to watch them along with you.
