The Walking Dead: S5E05 Self-Help - First time watching!

Super late but hearing you guys say "I love Tara!" in the show makes me laugh :) I'm also happy that the character in the show with my name is one of my favourite characters.

Yeah Abe's fam got scared because he beat a bunch of men to death that we're lead to believe brutally assaulted his wife & kids...in more ways than one...and it irritated me that he wasn't held in higher regard by her & them for the protection

Abraham's family is afraid of him after he kills the men that brutally attacked them. They run away from Abraham and get themselves torn apart. It's so very sad. This was a good episode. I love learning more about the characters.

They don’t explain Abe’s story well at all in the shows which kinda made me irritated. I really wish they could’ve hinted a lot better at Abe’s story. I’m sure you’ve read the comments already but I think his wife just wasn’t built for this world. You left your husband and took the kids because he slaughtered the men who brutally assaulted you and your daughter? Lol, that made me MAD SALTY! Abe deserved so much better.

I never looked at the flash backs that he had a bad temper. He does now because of his trauma but I looked at it that he did what he had to to save his family in the beginning. It seemed to me his wife couldn't except the new reality of this world. I'm just guessing but I doubt he attacked and killed several people just because they made him mad. I think they provided a risk and he thought he had to kill to protect his family but his wife just didn't get it.

The comics did a better job at explaining Abraham's backstory but pretty much they bunkered down in a store with his some friends who eventually turned on him and raped his wife, daughter, and made the son watch all while Abe was out on a run, and when he find who he butchered all his former friends involved in it but his family saw all he and were afraid of him.

I´m glad that you guys aknowledge that in a way Eugene saved Abraham, I mean he was about to shoot himself! That ending scene when Eugene says "I have a very important mission" always gives me the chills. This is why I loved TWD every character has so many layers, never seen that in a show before.

I don't know if you caught it but the "Self Help" came from the fact that when Eugene was watching Abe and Rosita, he was in the Self Help section. Rosita said the line to Abe. There are 4 episodes this season that I can just keep rewatching. And this is one them.

If I was with Abraham's crew, in the bus, wondering if the other crew was going to be following behind.... I would have tracked down a can of spray paint, or regular paint, and let them know at each intersection on the way up I would paint a big "X" on the road we take. They would either find us at the end, or would know we got the area we are in when the X's stop......... I think too much about this stuff, LOL.
