LOST: S6E16 What They Died For - First time watching!

Hi Trin, I also love the Ben/Locke relationship for me it is one of the best things about the show.

Yes, but originally the finale consists of 2 episodes, and some watch them separately. Now it's a full length chapter.

But there's only one episode left : the end

Célia Boisson

I haven't seen it mentioned here, was wondering if you noticed something familiar about the four remaining candidates.

Ben is trying to stay alive while covertly help the survivors

Next week is going to be so good.

One of my favorite scenes was between Jack and Sawyer in this episode. Remember how Sawyer harshly blamed Jack for Juliet's death after the incident? Well, now, it is partly his fault that Sun, Jin and Sayid died because he messed with the bomb and he feels it, too. And I love Jack so much for telling Sawyer that it was actually Flocke, not him, that killed them. Such a great interaction. Now that Jack has accepted to take over from Jacob, I just love that it comes down to Jack (as Jacob) and Locke (well sort of Locke.. as Man in Black). Ever since the earlier episodes in Season 1, one of the most significant conflicts in the show has been between Jack & Locke. Their conversations have always been really interesting and meaningful (whether it's about Man of Science/Man of Faith issues or it's the flash sideways discussions). And I just love that we will get to see what's going to happen with these two guys and of course our other losties in the finale.

Absolutely cannot wait for next week, guys. I've watched multiple reaction channels do the show through their respective YouTube edits, and while I started there with yours as well, this was the only one I ponied up the money for Patreon to watch the full episodes alongside you guys. Rob's fresh eyes were always an enjoyable perspective through which to see things again, and Trin did a great job of still discussing things without spoiling. Bang up job all around. Small thing I don't remember seeing mentioned in any Season 6 comments: there's a neat little runner in this season where you see each of the main cast in the flash sideways gazing into mirrors for what seems like an unusually long time. While it doesn't explicitly mean anything or spoil anything, it's an interesting thing to note going into The End. :)

I like that Jacob exempted candidates who became mothers. After his Mother put this island obligation before him... he knew that mothers should/would make their children their priority. I know that Jacob meant well, in how he went about things... and that he had no real healthy social development to go by... But his way is terribly flawed. He's all 'I don't interfere' and 'you have a choice'... when, yes, you do interfere... and, no, they don't truly have much choice. Telling people that they have to choose between the 4 of them or else the world ends... regardless of its necessity... is not really a lot of choice. Worse, Jacob has interfered... by bringing hundreds to the island to mostly die. Because they don't have a clue about what's at stake. Even Locke didn't. I'm like... bring people to the island, sure... but tell them the basics at stake...have Richard tell them about the bottle/cork analogy... (wasn't Richard supposed to be his welcome wagon?)... the ones who still choose to stay are the candidates you want. Let the ones who want to leave, go. That is actually free will. But... as irksome as I find Jacob's bullshit methods... it's all happened as it's supposed to. Stupid Jacob. He got so 'lucky' with this final batch of numbers to hopefully save the damn world.

Just making sure you guys are watching the extended cut version right? The other version has about 20 minutes that were cut from the finale.

Mark Bigwood

Alrighty surprise immediate finale tomorrow yah??

The fact that Jacob crossed out Kate's name is because by becoming a mother she now has a purpose in her life, that part always hit me. Rob and Trin you guys should watch the next two episodes together and not separately. Fantastic reaction. Greetings.

Honestly, good for Ben. He didn't do it to cause Penny any harm now... just that Charles had it coming. Charles doesn't get to flip to save his own daughter, when he caused the loss of Ben's. And, I think Ben was also hoping to stop Charles from giving Flocke whatever info he needed.
