Chris Reed

This episode wrecks me, our beloved Sun and Jin and Sayid :( I agree Rob it is a hell of a journey and i love your theorizing in the discussion. Great stuff guys, thanks.

Joined your Patreon the other night so I can watch the full episodes for this last season. This episode wrecked me. I thought Charlie dying was hard but this made me ugly cry and it happens every time I watch it. The acting in the show is amazing.

Piper

What a difficult episode, but it was needed to really push home how high the stakes are.

I’m back!!!! Took a hiatus because I had a full month and was kinda hanging out with Elizabeth Mitchell haha. Back to see the end of this journey!

It had never properly occurred to me that back in the day, just ONE season from a series like LOST took months to get though. It's no wonder I'm so invested all these years later, I've literally only just realised that the journey for those watching it in 2004 was six years long. Of course, this is the same for every television show. But somehow LOST has stuck with me, and others not so much. Truly didn't think about it in terms of ''months'' until I read this comment!

Okay, finished watching, tears settled, breath back to normal; I can comment now. LOL My little anecdote that I always share about this episode: Back in 2010 when this season was airing, friends and I were getting together every week to watch the new episodes 'live,' but we'd use a TiVo to record the episodes so once we were ready to watch we could do so ~an hour later while being able to fast-forward through commercials (2010, remember; way before ubiquitous streaming services lol). Well the night this episode aired, something went wrong with the TiVo and it stopped recording moments after Kate took the bullet on the dock, so we had no choice but to all go back to our respective homes and were left to our own devices to find a recording of the episode online and download it to finish watching. That then turned out to be for the best, as the dozen of us who were meeting up weren't stuck having to expose our most emotional and vulnerable selves to one another on the couch. lol Honestly one of the more memorable moments I have when I think back to those months of watching this season for the first time, as crushing as those final scenes truly are. Sayid's story always feels pretty half-baked overall this season, but even still it's sad to have to say goodbye to him, on top of the loss of Jin & Sun, which is still just heartbreaking 12+ years later. The final sideways conversation between Jack and Locke in the hospital also continues to carry so much emotion; I love the performances from both of them so much. Then following that up with the scene on the beach with all the tears and another great performance by Matthew Fox... just A+. Great, wonderful, sad episode. Thanks R&T, you're both great. Absolutely cannot wait for these last couple weeks with this show. What a great ride it's been!

He was busy theorizing. Honestly, most reactors seem to miss it.

I understand why James doubted. It would be difficult for any rational person to accept. But even more so for James... because it wasn't that long ago that he went along with Jack and lost Juliet in the process. (Even if it was the right thing to do.) That's still really fresh for him. But this is crushing. Sayid went out like the ninja badass he always was. But in truth, we lost Sayid back in S5. And I feel like he, Sun & Jin have been mostly tangential players for a long time now. They ran out of integral storyline for them, except to be reunited. It was beautiful in a way, but also a shame... and heartbreaking.

No matter how many times I have seen this episode I cry. Jin & Sun so sad. The music in this show is always so perfect it just brings on more emotion. Also Sayid. I hated what they did to him this season but he will always be one of my favorite characters & he at least got to redeem himself before dieing.

First time I watched this episode, I remember yelling at my TV: "WHY?! That's BS!" I even tried to prepare myself for rewatching it in this reaction. And yet, it kind of hits even harder. I wanna thank you guys for your amazing reactions and going along with you on this journey of watching it. It might be rewatching for me, for Trin, but the impact is still there.

MSephiroth

Hope you two will watch some horror/thriller movies for spooky October/Halloween!
