2022-10-02 02:30:49 +0000 UTCUnfortunately, even if he wanted to, Charles Widmore couldn't have been nice to Desmond from the beginning. Since Charles fathered Daniel with Eloise... and Eloise had adult Daniel's journal after killing him in 1977... Eloise was privy to decades of info (plus she seems special in her own right, much like Desmond)... some of which she most likely shared with Charles when need be. So, if Charles had been nice to Desmond... Desmond wouldn't have broken up with Penny, eventually joining a sailing race to prove Charles wrong & win his approval. Leading him to the island... crashing 815... and saving the world...which was his destiny. This is what always happened and had to happen. Our Desmond is uniquely and miraculously special... whether he likes it or not.

So many goosebumps from desmond asking for the flight manifest from minkowski... "I just need to show them something." Desmond is hands down the best character mostly because he has the best episodes. And I love that it was charlie who helped him open his eyes in the story. He had such a great friendship with him. The fact that desmond named his son after him when the man he hates the most is basically the same name always blew my mind when you realize that his love for Charlie overpowered his hate for Charles. Everyone likes to say that sawyer and juliet were the best couple but they don't come close to penny and desmond.

My theory is that Eloise knows things because she's kind of like the Desmond of her generation. Great reaction, and I can't wait to watch what comes next!
