You're right, Helo did take out a number of centurions. He was being set up though. I don't know if any of his kills were really him killing normal centurions. They could all have been playing bait-centurions, so that he and Sharon could be all heroic and rescue each other from them. After Sharon left her people and they had to seriously go on the run, I don't recall Helo killing any centurions.
