Arcade Update.
Added 2019-01-15 11:15:09 +0000 UTCWell, looks like SFM decided to render a video for about an eternity and 30 minutes XD,
so to fight the boredom, im going to show you the progress about my problematic arcade cabinet.
Well at first i thought the machine wasn't working properly because of a faulty PSU, it had a bulky capacitor, which i replaced without drama:
after that the motherboard booted up, and turns out the Sanwa arcade monitor was still alive, it gonna need a "recap" soon but at least the CRT tube it's not broken, so far so good.
Ok is time to play some "family friendly" games imma right?
Wrong!!!, the motherboard was an prehistoric PC who decides to die just when i was having fun.
But with the help of my lovely Patrons, and the people who gratefully helping me out when i opened for commissions, i got a fresh new Motherboard, with an more powerful CPU, double the RAM memory, and a more efficient CPU cooler, it's time to revive this lady!.
Windows 7 was a bitch during the process, because every time you make a major change in hardware, it just refuses to run, , so after a fresh new installation, and reinstalling again all the necessary software:
IT'S ALIVE!!!, IT'S ALIVE!!!...
And it runs much more smoother than before, so i think i finally got my childhood dream came to realisation, i have my own arcade machine!!!.
Of course i know at some point the CRT monitor will just die, it's inevitable on that kind of technology, but at least i think i have a few more months or even years of fun ahead of me!

2019-01-17 10:45:29 +0000 UTCIn the late 2000s the arcade industry just vanishes almost entirely on my country, all local Arcades just closed their doors, simply abandon and even destroying the arcade cabinets, so this one it's pretty much a survivor, now all we got it's just fucking slot machines, you know becasue videogames are bad for kids, but aparently gambling its ok. đĄ

2019-01-15 11:53:10 +0000 UTCAlso CRT's can handle low resolutions WAY better than new monitos, and surprisingly less tendency of burn in than Oled panels, still my arcade monitor has a little bit of burn in already, only noticeable when it shows solid colors.

2019-01-15 11:29:49 +0000 UTCCRT are the zombies of monitors. With the right equipment and dedication you can always revive one. I have an old panasonic crt 18 which i will refuse to let die so i can play all the indies there. Gives it a nice feel.
