Riddley's Nightmare - Chapter 10

Stephie has fun as a Goddess.

+++

In a turn of events that shook the tranquil city of Boulder to its core, chaos reigned as a teenage girl named Stephie, known by many as 'Your Divineness' unleashed a storm of destruction and terror upon unsuspecting citizens. Thousands were caught in the wake of her frenzied attack – now lost to us forever.

The devastation began in the early morning hours when fog clung heavily to the streets. The usual bustle of cars and honking horns was interrupted by a sudden explosion, jolting everyone out of their mundane routines.

Eyewitnesses: A group of four hikers, their boots sinking into the soft earth as they trekked through the hills on the outskirts of the city, turned to face the sky when a sudden commotion caught their attention. Their eyes widened in awe as a figure emerged from the clouds.

It hovered ominously above the city for a moment, surrounded by an aura of blinding light that shot out and collided with a densely populated area filled with towering office buildings and skyscrapers. The intense brightness nearly blinded the hikers, causing them to shield their eyes and stumble backward in shock. When their vision cleared, they were met with a surreal sight that seemed straight out of a science fiction movie.

In a matter of seconds, flames engulfed at least one-third of the city, sending thick black smoke swirling into the air and casting an ominous shadow over the streets. This was only the beginning.

As the hikers ran for their lives, one hiker, who preferred to remain anonymous, could hear the panicked screams of the crowd behind her in the distance, gradually dying out with each attack until there was only silence left. The thought of being hunted down like prey by some unseen force sent shivers down her spine.

No one could fathom why the Divineness had unleashed this chaos upon them or what her next move would be. Forcing citizens to walk in line according to her demands felt like a safe haven, as if obeying this teenage girl with godlike power would protect them from any punishment. But now, as the city burned and people fled in terror, it was clear that they were nothing but pawns in her twisted game of power.

The mysterious and senseless destruction of Boulder left authorities grasping for answers as they searched for a reason behind the devastation. Fear and uncertainty gripped the country as everyone wondered if their city would be next on her list. In response to the chaos, the President held a press conference this morning, his voice strained with tension as he assured the public that no further destruction would occur. He spoke of arrangements made with Your Divineness, offering a glimmer of hope in the midst of chaos.

"Yo Bob, want to share a cold one?" Bob's annoyed eyes peeked over the rim of his phone, glancing at his colleague holding a can of beer in hand. After a curt nod, he deftly caught the can as it was thrown across the canteen, spinning through the air before clutching it in his hand.

The feeling of cold condensation seeped into his palm as he brought the can closer to his face. He was eager for a drink but also cautious of the potential mess that could come with it after it was shaken up so vigorously by his colleague's antics.

"Asshole, now the beer will explode in my face the moment I open it," Bob grumbled, eyeing the can with a mix of desire and caution.

His colleague chuckled, taking a seat across from Bob at the table. "Then you better hold your mouth wide open above the opening like this," he said, gesturing to his own open mouth with a smirk.

"That way, it might spray in your mouth instead of upon that ugly face of yours."

Bob rolled his eyes but couldn't help letting out a small laugh.

A worried crease formed between Bob's brows as he set his phone aside with a deep sigh. With a longing glance at the cold, unopened can of beer on the table, he pushed it away and massaged his temples.

His colleague, Peter, a disheveled man with unkempt hair and a tie-dye shirt, raised an eyebrow at him.

"Something on your mind? What were you checking out on your phone anyway?"

Bob let out a heavy breath and rested his head in his palm. "Just scrolling through some news updates."

Peter's eyes widened in remembrance of something he had heard that morning. "Oh man, Boulder to damnation. Can you believe it?" He shook his head in disbelief. "A disaster like that should worry me, but my mother-in-law used to live there. Or rather, she did until the accident. I never got along with her, and now I won't have to deal with her talking crap about me to my fiancee." He chuckled, taking a long swig from his glass and wiping his lips on his forearm. "But I guess I'll have to comfort Diana during this difficult time. She's quite cute, by the way."

Bob's brow cocked. "Who?"

"The one they call Your Divineness," Peter said. "I heard she's just a senior in high school. But on the internet, she looks smoking hot. I wouldn't mind getting with her."

Bob's grip on Peter's arms was tight, his eyes burning with anger. "Watch your mouth," he growled through gritted teeth.

Peter wanted to respond to ask why Bob was suddenly so emotional when a figure appeared in the doorway, casting a striking silhouette in the dimly lit room. It was a woman, and from what Peter could see of her curves and contours, she was pretty gorgeous. The girl's eyes scanned the room, filled with weary construction workers taking a much-needed break after a grueling half-day of labor. The air was thick with sweat and dust, creating a musky scent that lingered around them. Even in this rustic setting, the woman exuded an air of elegance and poise as she stood in the doorway, her presence commanding attention.

"Dad! There you are!" The girl entered the room with a burst of energy, heading straight towards their table. Despite the stares from the other construction workers, she paid them no mind, and the chatter in the room gradually died down as she approached.

Peter couldn't help but be entranced by this girl's stunning beauty. Her body was a masterpiece, sculpted with curves that were both alluring and sensual. Every move she made seemed to flow like a work of art, drawing his gaze with each graceful step. He couldn't take his eyes off her, captivated by the way she carried herself with effortless grace and confidence.

Realizing that she was the one they called Your Divineness, he looked at his colleague with amusement and said, "Did she just call you Dad?"

In public, Peter had noticed that the girl was dressed in a more royal manner, with even a circlet on her head. But now, she sported a casual look with baggy cut-off dungarees that still looked undeniably alluring.

Her ankle boots clapped on the wooden floor as she strode confidently towards the table. Bob jumped up from his seat, arms spread and a grin on his face. "Stephie, darling! Come give your old man a hug!"

"Don't 'darling' me, you!" Stephie swatted away his hand. "You haven't even said congratulations on my coronation."

Bob's expression was filled with guilt. "I wanted to. I swear. I was just being held up with… things at work."

"Bullshit!" Stephie said.

Peter wedged his head in between father and daughter, his gaze fixed on Bob with a look of puzzlement.

"Is Your Divineness your daughter? Really? I mean, true, your daughter is hot and all, but not this hot." He looked at Stephie with alluring eyes.

"Stay out of this!" Stephie and Bob yelled in unison, ushering him away.

Stephie's face fell as she spoke apologetically. "I'm sorry, Dad, but I have to do this. Your actions as a father are unacceptable, and I have no other option but to take drastic measures."

"W-what do you mean? What are you going to do?" Bob stammered, fear evident in his voice.

Stephie nonchalantly shrugged her shoulders. "Not much. I am going to obliterate this entire city and everyone in it except for you. Maybe then you will finally see me as a daughter worthy of your love."

The construction workers watched with trepidation as the Goddess entered the building and engaged in a conversation. They were all too familiar with her abilities and feared her greatly. So, when Stephie casually mentioned that she would destroy the entire city, it was no surprise that everyone erupted into a frenzy of panicked screams.

People pushed and shoved each other out of the way, knocking over chairs and tables in their haste to flee from this incredibly beautiful yet terrifying teenage girl.

Bob dropped to his knees and clutched his daughter's hands, pleading with her through tear-filled eyes. But Stephie was unyielding. She held the power of a deity now, ruler of this planet, and she expected everyone, even her family, to obey her command without question.

As the sun rose the next day, a grave announcement echoed nationwide through television screens. A newsreader with a somber tone delivered the news of yet another grant city vanishing under the wrathful hands of the one known as Your Divininess. The world held its breath in fear and confusion, struggling to understand her motives and wondering if they would be the next target of her devastating attacks. Panic spread like wildfire through every corner of the globe as authorities desperately tried to anticipate and prepare for the potential destruction that Stephie's unpredictable actions could unleash.
