Brobdingnagian Birthday - Chapter 52

After a long hiatus is here another chapter of Brobdingnagian Birthday.

+++

Surge of hopelessness flooded Rick's senses as he gazed upon the desolation left behind in their once thriving town by the monumental brats that rampaged through it last night. For months, he had journeyed with his family to reach this supposed sanctuary. They risked their very lives for the possibility of finding a haven where they could live without the constant terror of the colossal creatures that roamed this planet. The remains of buildings and homes they worked so hard to build lay scattered in chaotic heaps, stark reminders of the destruction wrought upon their community. The air was thick with the stench of smoke and decay, and a heavy sense of despair hung over the ruined landscape.

But as Rick looked at his family, huddled together amidst the chaos, he knew they would persevere. They were survivors and fighters and would continue their quest for a better life, no matter how bleak things may seem.

When he first arrived here, Rick scratched the back of his head when he looked at the place's owner. It was a Brobdingnagian, but she seemed exceptionally young.

He couldn't fathom how someone so youthful could manage such a complex operation—secretly lodging humans and lilliputians.

Part of him wanted to turn back and retreat to where they came from, but his wife's urging pushed him to give it a chance. And to his surprise, it did not disappoint. Madison possessed an impressive ability to manage everything here and keep them all safe. Under her guidance, their settlement began to thrive as more and more lilliputians and humans poured in. The atmosphere was filled with hope and determination, giving Rick a sense of optimism for their future together.

Rick always looked forward to Madison's arrival, as she radiated joy and care toward everyone around her.

But one day, she brought someone else along - a strikingly tall girl who seemed to tower over Madison herself and seemed slightly older than her. Her long, dark hair cascaded down her back in gentle waves, and her blue dress barely reached above her knees. Instantly, Rick's gut twisted with uneasiness as the girl's calculating gaze swept over their settlement.

Unlike Madison's innocent gaze, there was something shifty and secretive in this girl's eyes. He wanted to warn Madison about this, but what could he do? He was small and insignificant next to these godlike girls, mere specks in their world.

Viana tried her best to appear interested as Madison droned on about the inner workings of the sanctuary. She spoke of the countless lilliputians and humans saved from inevitable demise, but Viana's mind was elsewhere. Rick could see it in the distant look in her eyes and the apathetic tilt of her head. It was clear that she was not truly invested in this topic. Her genuine interest lay in the part where their kind wielded power over the smaller beings. Knowing the implications of such a mindset, this thought churned uncomfortably in Rick's stomach.

Luckily, Madison's boldness and quick thinking saved them from her presence as she banished Vianna from the sanctuary with harsh words. But not before the enraged girl hurled a human-made statue into the heart of a peaceful Lilliputian settlement nearby. The impact was devastating as houses and factories exploded, claiming hundreds of innocent lives. Rick couldn't help but worry that Vianna may one day return, seeking revenge. But his wife reassured him, reminding him to trust in Madison. She was their caretaker, and she would ensure that Vianna would never set foot on their land again. The memory of the destruction left behind lingered in the air, a reminder of the chaos and danger that Vianna had brought into their once peaceful home.

His wife's words had never been more wrong. It had been weeks since they had last seen Madison, and the stories that trickled in from those who dared venture outside were far from hopeful. Whispers of their caretaker being shot down and fears of her death circulated among the refugees. Even worse, they heard tales of Sophie, Madison's mother, unleashing her rage on the Brobdingnagian cities, shrinking them one by one until they were no more than tiny specks in a vast landscape.

Rick could not care less about that. It serves those Brobdingnagians right for mistreating their kind. Let them experience how it feels to be powerless when people innumerable times taller than their highest structures decide to torture them.

It was only fair for them to experience the same treatment they dished out.

As Rick surveyed the sanctuary, his mind was worried about its future. The sudden absence of its godlike caretaker had unleashed a troubling change in behavior among the inhabitants. Some had begun to show boldness and even took to ordering others around. But it was the humans who posed the most significant threat. Towering above the lilliputians' meager constructions, they were like unstoppable giants in the tiny world of the lilliputians. And with no one to oversee their actions, who knew what danger they could bring upon themselves and the sanctuary?

As the days passed without any sign of their caretaker, Madison, some of the humans amongst them began to lose hope. And with that loss of hope came a cruel pleasure in terrorizing the lilliputians who had come to trust and rely on them for protection. The once peaceful sanctuary had become a place of fear and chaos, filled with unpredictable giants.

But then, as if things couldn't get any worse, three massive Brobdingnagians boldly entered their tiny domain, the audacious Vianna, her towering figure casting a shadow over the frightened lilliputians, accompanied by a few of her intimidating friends. The ground shook beneath their footsteps, and the air seemed still as they surveyed the scene before them. The lilliputians cowered in fear, unsure of what would happen next in this new and unexpected turn of events as their sanctuary was now in the grasp of three teens of monumental proportions.

Vianna's arrival was a swift and commanding one, leaving no doubt that she was the one in charge now. With a few spoken words, she declared ownership over every human and lilliputian in Madison's once peaceful sanctuary. Her words carried a sense of power and authority, and her actions were quick to back them up. She wasted no time in getting down to business, dismantling and destroying any projects or structures dedicated to their former owner, Madison, with her mighty feet and fists. The spirit of the once bustling and vibrant sanctuary now lay broken and trembling beneath Vianna's rule.

Every person was commanded to bow down and worship Vianna, their new Goddess. They were to get on their knees in a reverent position every time she entered the room. As a display of her power and dominance, she allowed her friends to release their pent-up energy by wreaking havoc on human settlements. The girls gleefully demolished buildings and structures here and there while ordering poor humans to do tricks and plays for their amusement. Goddess Vianna and her friends reclined on the floor, sipping soda and indulging in sweets as they laughed and cheered. With each shift of their cute butts, they crushed acres of Lilliputian land beneath them, uncaring about the destruction they were causing.

This was just another day in the life of those living in Madison's sanctuary, oppressed by Vianna's rule, filled with submission and no room for resistance, as the teen Goddess was just too powerful.

Stephanie stirred from her slumber at the sound of a groan. She was one of the chosen girls tasked with keeping watch over Sophie's comatose daughter. Rubbing her tired eyes, she sat in a comfortable chair with her feet propped up on a nearby table, her e-reader resting on her chest. Suddenly, her drowsiness vanished as she noticed the blond girl before her showing signs of life - she shifted her head slightly and let out faint groans. Stephanie leaped to her feet in a flurry of movement, causing the chair to clatter to the ground. She raced off excitedly to inform her boss, Sophie, of the miraculous development.

As Stephanie hurried through the door, she nearly collided with Madison's mother, who was already there. She quickly apologized, bowing her head multiple times, but Sophie seemed not to register her presence. Instead, she made her way over to the bed where Madison lay, her daughter fighting to emerge from the last remnants of her coma and rejoin the world of the living.

Sophie's face lit up with a smile as she gently caressed Madison's forehead, brushing away a loose strand of hair. Slowly, Madison's eyes blinked open, still clouded with confusion, until they focused on her mother. Recognition dawned in them, and they shone with emotion.

"Mom," Madison croaked out, barely audible.
