Violet vs Mackenzie - chapter 2

She landed, face first, in what appeared to be the most giant sandbox she had ever seen. She scrambled to her feet and coughed up a lump of sand that her lower jaw shoveled during her landing.
Now, that's a new one. She shook the dizziness away.
Her hand massaged her temple as she took in the surrounding. There was sand all around her as far as her eyes could see. Her first instinct was to check something. She lowered her gaze and looked intensely at the sand at her feet. Her eyes became radiant crimson orbs as they gathered an immeasurable amount of destructive energy. Two thin beams shot out as she released a minuscule portion of heat that her eyes were able to unleash. Mackenzie's lips curled upwards as she saw grains of sand melting and turning into a sort of frozen liquid.
Good. I still have my powers.
HOOOOONK!!!
Mackenzie shrieked and leaped up like a deer pounced by a predator. Pivoting on her heels, she stood face to face with the radiator grille of a roaring lorry. Its side window slid down and a bald guy with a rough flavor-savor planted on his jaw stuck his head out, scowling at her.
"Are you out of your goddamn skull?!" Mackenzie jabbed the front of her forehead with her index finger.
The bald guy spat on the ground. "Says the wench who stands naked like a jaybird in the middle of a desert!"
"Naked?" Mackenzie frowned and examined her own body. "As I live and breathe! Your filthy mouth is right!"
"What is your destination? You can hitchhike along if you like. Though it will be impossible not to ogle that tight hot bod of yours, I'm afraid." The driver cackled loudly about his raunchy joke.
Mackenzie frowned. It was decided that she would end the guy's life in a highly unpleasant way, but first, she needed to know where or when she was. "You, where the hell are we?"
"Suffering from dementia now, are we?" The truck driver said. "Or you're just a crazy ass wench who has been released here in her birthing suit by even crazier people. Either way, it'll cost ya." He shamelessly let his eyes wander over her naked body.
Mackenzie scowled, wanting to kill him even more. "You may touch anything," she said between clenched jaws.
"You're in Norway." The truck driver said.
Mackenzie's eyes lit red as its heat blew one of his tires. "Stop winding me!"
"Wooow! What kind of monster are you?"
"A monster who's going to incinerate that microscopic weener of yours if you don't tell me this instance where I am!" Mackenzie walked up to the driver's seat, anger flashing in her eyes. She reached her hand out and tore the door in its entirety loose from its hinges, revealing the frightened truck driver.
His hand shot out to his glove compartment, where he pulled out a fully loaded .44 magnum. Without wavering, he aimed it at Mackenzie's comely face and pulled the trigger.
"Are you done?" Mackenzie said as the first bullet dented harmlessly against her forehead before pinging on the ground.
The truck driver screamed and fired three more times before Mackenzie had enough of it and detonated herself in a fit of anger. All that was left was a crater the size of a football field where a second ago stood a lorry and a part of a road. Mackenzie took off and pierced through a cloud of smoke and dust swirling above the detonation site.
"Norway," She snorted while hovering in the air. She looked about and saw the contours of civilization peeping on the horizon. She blasted off in that direction, creating several sonic booms.
"Let's find some proper clothing first."
Meanwhile, on the other side of the planet was a group of loggers taking a break after a long morning of laboring. They sat in a half circle, resting their butts on tree stumps, chatting about politics and climate change. One of them stood stirring in a cauldron, prepping a mouth-watering, strong aromatic smelling mustard soup.
"Get your bowls in your hands, lads. Soup's as good as ready." The one serving as the cook said. Just when the flock of hungry Lumberjacks wanted to stand up to assault the soup, a ripple appeared out of nowhere in midair. A scream followed and a naked girl was spit out by the universe. She flew through the air and smashed right into the cauldron of smoldering soup, knocking it – and the cook preparing it – over.
The sizzling soup scalded the cook's arm and a good portion of his face, burning them badly and leaving behind a red, blistering parchment. The other loggers dashed to the rescue and poured whatever water they had over the burned parts of his body. Two of them ran up to Violet, who lay a few yards away, stark naked. Her bare legs were also covered in boiling soup.
"Miss?" One of the men asked.
Violet groaned and sat up on her knees.
Her gaze met the eyes of two astonished men. She raised her hand and fired a burst of energy from her palm, killing the two men instantly.
Their colleagues – still busy tending the burned individual – swirled around, responding to the shrieks. Violet killed them too. And also the burned individual on the floor, just to be freed from his ear-piercing screams.
Violet scrambled to her feet and examined her surroundings in perplexity.
A forest?
Then she noticed her nakedness when a breeze tickled her skin.
"Well, I'll be…" Violet walked up to one of the felled loggers, looked at his oversized lumberjack and shrugged. "You won't be needing this." Her mind brought the guy's clothes to life. The pieces of cloth tore themselves loose from the corpse and floated towards Violet, where they wrapped themselves around her body. The red lumberjack felt like a skirt as it ended mid-thigh. She leaped up and shot through thick layers of tree branches before entering the clouded sky above it. Violet saw forest everywhere she looked. She also saw a row of mountains jutting out on the horizon. She blasted off in that direction. It was not long before she saw a dot appearing in the sky. Fueled by curiosity, Violet took it up a notch and created multiple sonic booms as she flew in its direction. The dot became bigger and made a roaring sound. It also had wings and was red.
"A two-winged plane?" Violet looked puzzled as she soared closer. Its pilot spotted her, immediately aimed his machine gun at her, and fired away. A barrage of bullets whistled Violet's way, shredding her freshly acquired lumberjack, but keeping her invulnerable skin intact. "Do you want to see me naked so badly?!"
Just when Violet wanted to incinerate the plane with her heat vision, she heard more planes roaring behind her. "The hell? Is it war?" She gaped at a squadron of about fifty two-winged planes roaring in the sky. They opened fire, shredding Violet's already wasted lumberjack to swirling confetti of raffled stripes. "Okay, now you've done it!"
With a few quick motions of her hands, Violet took down one plane after the other with energy bolts shot from her hand. As Violet watched its debris plummet, she noticed she was still being shot at, only now from the ground. She saw innumerable dots flashing among the ridges of a mountain range. She peered more intensely and saw hundreds upon hundreds of soldiers teeming about, fighting each other. "Ha! It really is war! But their weaponry looks so… dated. Like the ones I once saw in a documentary my dad was watching one time. Could it be that I've just traveled through time?"
Violet flew closer to the ground, wanting to inspect the scenery down below more closely. Yep, it's all there. Ancient-looking artillery devices that are pulled by horses and big-ass ugly tanks driving over trenches. Hell, even their uniforms and helmets look precisely like what Violet had seen on television.
A strange flag caught her eye, flapping in the breeze. She had never seen anything like it, for it bore a unique combination of colors and shapes. Violet could not decipher to what country it belonged.
She wanted to land to interrogate some of these soldiers but was under constant and severe shooting.
"STOP IT!" She bellowed. Her superpowered voice reverberated between the mountains. To her surprise, all soldiers ceased what they were doing. All attention was geared at her now. Instead of fighting each other, both armies now began shooting at Violet. It annoyed her tremendously. It was high time to deal with these fuckers. Violet was prepared to unleash a devastating attack that would decimate a large portion of the mountains, but then she was startled by a massive explosion from a location far away that she could not see. Violet glanced suspiciously in the direction where it came from.
