Shrunken perspective - Part 2

“Bennet!” Serenity beamed, like greeting an old lost friend. Before Bennet could respond, Serenity already embraced him with a warm hug. “You look great! How are you?!”
Overwhelmed by Serenity’s genuine interest, but even more by her soft arms wrapped around his neck and the intoxicated sweet scent of her perfume, Bennet’s brain was numb, unable to respond. The rate of his heart quickened to a level of insanity, seemingly rattling out of his chest. He drooled in her heavenly countenance when Serenity observed him with mischievous glee. Absolutely, everything was beautiful about this girl. Her olive skin contrasted just perfect with the lively curls of her dark hair. Black as a starless night they were, and cascading sensually along her heart-shaped face, giving her the appearance of an exotic Arabian princess.

“You’re a cutie, aren’t you?” Serenity spoke from her lusty lips. Bennet was certain now. He was in love with this girl, head over heels. He would dig all the way to earth’s very core if she required it from him.

“Don’t be getting notions in your head now, brother.” Taylor’s strident voice broke in. “The girl just loves to toy with the feeble-minded. Aint that right, Seren?”

“Taylor!” Serenity’s enthusiasm sky-rocketed by the sight of her best friend. They both hugged and giggled in each other’s arms, while Bennet just stood there, gawking, still holding the door in his hand.

“Don’t just linger there like a potato bag.” Taylor fumed. “Do as instructed.”

Bennet looked back, shocked by Taylor’s sharp voice. His gaze interchanged between Taylor’s seeding stare, and Serenity’s frolic look. Taylor’s facial expression told Bennet more than he needed to know, if he slacked any moment longer, Taylor’s swift knuckles would find their way to his brittle nose before sunset.
If Bennet knew that this was the last time he could look his insufferable sister in the eyes, that the next time he would see her, she would be like an unattainable God to him, he would perhaps show some sign of resistance against her rule.
On the other hand, Bennet simple lacked the manly spine for that. And even if he did have the courage to stand up against his sister, he was powerless against her. She was just too strong for him.

Like a herded sheep, Bennet shuffled meekly towards the staircase.

“You’re too hard on the boy.” Bennet heard Serenity’s voice saying. It gave him a bit of comfort to know that Taylor’s best friend didn’t comply with the scene. He wanted to blurt out all the horrible things his sister is doing to him, just to see Serenity’s reaction on such a disturbing revelation. Would she break the bond with Taylor for knowing the filthy truth about her nature? It would be the perfect revenge.
While these thoughts spun around in his head, Bennet noticed his feet making up his mind for him, for they were already ascending the staircase, clumping with every step they took. The moment was gone.
Once upstairs, he ambled towards his room, sullen, hearing cackling voices coming from the hallway when even more of Taylor’s friends were pouring in.
The sound of beeps, like a computer game from the eighties, was heard coming from his father’s invention room. Bennet paused and noticed the door being ajar.

The future depends on what you do today. told the text, printed on a poster on the door. Bennet took a peek and opened the door. His dad always treated his work with care. It surprised Bennet to see his workshop unlocked while he was gone for the week. He looked about and saw various machines parked, some in stand-by modus and some turned off. A slight smirk squeezed his thin lips when he saw one his dad’s inventions responsible for granting Taylor a fully charged electric shock, and with it, a super Saiyan-like haircut. It was supposed to be a birthday present for Taylor, but like many inventions of their father, the machine still possessed a few minor shortcomings.
Bennet laughed his ass off that day, together with half their family who stood witness. It also brought back memories of a somewhat less entertaining experience. That same night, Taylor returned the favor in breaking two of his lower ribs during a sparring session whereby she grabbed him in a clinch and smashed her knees in the gut and against his chest, causing him to wheeze in agony after every thrust.
Bennet still felt the stabbing pain when he put his hand on the concerned spot. He hated Taylor, but was powerless on occasions like that. For a sudden, a high-pitched charging sound grabbed his attention. On his dad’s cluttered crafting table, Bennet saw bright blue-light emanating from what appeared to be a futuristic laser gun. He approached the table with caution.
Just when Bennet was about to touch the gun, the charging sound reached its peek, and he got shot by a radiant red beam. He screeched like a girl and felt a warm glow pumping through his body. A heavy dizziness, roller-coasting his head, caused him to stumble, and he fell on the floor, butt first. He was astonished when he saw all objects around him to grow rapidly in size, matching even the height of skyscrapers.
It took him a moment to realize that actually he was the one who was altering in size. He couldn’t be bigger than a freaking crumb of bread.
Bennet stood up and panic clenched his throat when reality started to sink in. Right now, he is just a speck, milling about on the floor of his father’s workshop. How would he ever be able to regain his original size again? Bennet craned his neck and looked up towards the crafting table. How would he ever be able to catch hold of the shrink ray, on a position beyond impossible to reach? And even if he did, It was deemed unachievable to activate it at his current size.
His contemplation got interrupted when he felt trembles beneath his feet, rising in fierceness with every turn.
The next moment, would bear sight forever etched upon his imagery-mind. Bennet’s comprehension sank off in turbid depths when he saw his sister, heavenly huge, posting herself in the doorway. He saw Taylor in a new light, gawked at her from a most unusual perspective. Her imposing form struck both wonder and fear in his hearth. Anxiety always piggybacked along with Bennet while in proximity of his older sister. Her piercing words exceeded even the pain inflicted by the smacking merge of Taylor’s knuckle with his eyes. Bennet despised his sister, but also placed her upon a pedestal, beheld her as a person he would never be. He was used to being outshone on every area of life by his sister. She was physical stronger, smarter and far more beautiful than he could ever dare dream.
However, beholding her in such incomprehensible magnitude resulted in a shift of his view of Taylor to border godly reverence even.
Taylor. Plain Taylor. His sister. She appeared like a God now. She was an omnipotent presence, yet so unreachable for a puny mortal like himself.

His eyes were drawn towards Taylor’s muscular, yet feminine bare leg when she was about to take a step, making the muscles in her thigh and calf to bulge. An electric shiver conducted along his spine, hopping from one vertebra to the next, when Bennet recalled the pain inflicted on him by those legs. He could only cry out in helpless agony, taking kick after knee, by his sister’s mighty legs. Even in his original size, those legs would be able to destroy him with ease. Now however, simple Taylor’s foot could even annihilate the entire population of a large city if they stood here with him just as minuscule as Bennet.

“Pipsqueak?” Taylor’s voice thundered, seemingly silencing the entire room to attention. Her brows furrowed deep when Taylor scanned the room. It was a spectacle to see something so immense, doing something so trivial, like sauntering. Bennet suddenly realized he stood loitering in her path, with a high risk of being trampled by her quaking walkers,

Bennet leapt up like a startled rodent when the sound of a honk blazed in his ears and teared his hypnotic gaze away from his spectacular huge sister.

He spun on his heels and was baffled to see a car approaching, a hoodless jeep, a bit ragged, with seemingly three persons in it and, surprisingly, the same size as him.

“Do you consider yourself valuable, boy?” A middle-aged man sitting in the front passenger seat said, with a dignified voice. He had a ripe mustache growing on his upper lip, adorned with richly loopings at its tips. He looked at Bennet, awaiting his response. The question didn’t penetrate deep enough, for Bennet was still trying to process his new shrunken size and the fact that he clearly wasn’t the only one this small. He looked at the man, embroiled, unable to convey a proper response. His stream of entangling thoughts was interjected when Taylor’s mighty sneaker smacked down on the floor, shaking them all up. He looked up in beholding awe and saw his godlike sister approaching, fast, and they stood all in the path she was walking.

“If you crave to live another day, I suggest you answer the man.” a burly man, stationed behind the wheel said, peering at him with narrow eyes, below bushy eyebrows.

“Guess you’re without worth then." he said, after a moment of another silence from Bennet’s side. They all trembled again, more intense, when another footfall of Taylor was felt.

“Come on, there's happy hour at Leo’s place. This guy clearly wants to manage on its own.” The driver said, and the jeep drove off.

“No, no! Wait! Let me come along!” Bennet shouted, running after them, while gazing back at his enormous approaching sister in panic. ““Im valuable! Im valuable! Please!” The jeep shrieked to a stop, causing Bennet to bounce hard against the rear with his shoulder, squealing like a hounded rug rat.

“Hop in lad, before we’re all flat pancacked by this peppy nubile.” The third guy said from the backseat. He had an amiable face with a soft, honeyed voice. He appeared to be the most friendly from them lot.

Bennet dived on the backseat with haste, slamming the door close, and they drove off with screeching tires.

Bennet looked back one more time and saw Taylor’s sneaker crashing down violently right at the spot he was standing just a while ago. The impact caused their car to bounce at least a foot airborne, before they stumbled back on the hard surface and continued their way.
