Chapter 122: Captured

He only knew that the Saiyans' home planet had faced a celestial crisis, leaving only a handful of Saiyans who managed to escape. But he hadn't considered that those who could escape from a planet's destruction wouldn't be weaklings!
Even though the Saiyans arrived at Red Mountain Planet not solely by their own power, Ditongjia could have avoided his current predicament if he had thought this through.
After a brutal battle, Ditongjia wanted to cry. He was now in a sorry state, not only bound tightly but also bruised and battered, with his hands tied behind his back and dragged by a long chain. A profound sense of despair filled his heart.
The small chain couldn't truly restrain someone as powerful as Ditongjia. However, his earlier experiences had made him fearful. Every time he looked back at the Saiyans glaring at him with fierce eyes, Ditongjia couldn't help but shiver, obediently submitting as a captive.
"What was I thinking, coming here to teach the Saiyans a lesson? Look at me now, captured instead!" Ditongjia lamented, muttering under his breath.
Living a carefree life seemed a distant memory now that he was a prisoner on Red Mountain Planet. This had ruined his reputation entirely! Every time he thought about it, Ditongjia felt like beating himself up in regret.
Victory and defeat were part of the same coin, all because he was too combative. And Jack and the others, why didn't they stop him at the crucial moment?
"What are you muttering about? Move faster! I thought you were tough, but you're not much after all!" The Saiyan holding the chain snapped at him, adding to Ditongjia's mental and physical exhaustion.
"One hundred against one, no one could win that..." Ditongjia said bitterly. "I mean, this is a misunderstanding. I'm a Galactic Patrol mercenary. Look, here's the Galactic Patrol emblem!"
With his hands bound, Ditongjia could only gesture with his chin towards the emblem on his chest.
"You say you're a Galactic Patrol mercenary, so we're supposed to believe that? Hah, we'll investigate thoroughly," the Saiyan replied dismissively. Regardless of whether he was a Galactic Patrol mercenary, anyone causing trouble on Red Mountain Planet would face the consequences.
Ditongjia stared in shock, nearly choking on his frustration. It was clear they didn't believe his claim, or they were pretending not to. He had no choice but to obediently remain a prisoner.
Soon after, the Saiyan team escorted Ditongjia to the Guard's investigation center, while the luxurious dark gold spaceship they arrived in was confiscated by the Fidaians.
At the investigation center, Ditongjia saw his teammates Jack, Avde, Sain, and Visha, all similarly bound and bruised. Seeing their condition, Ditongjia's heart sank, his face turning pale. It wasn't just him who got captured!
This was a disaster... They hadn't taught the Saiyans a lesson; instead, they were all caught.
"Big Brother!"
"Ditongjia, you're here too!" His teammates exclaimed, looking at him with a mix of excitement and relief.
"What do you mean, 'I'm here too'? Do you think I wanted to be here?" Ditongjia felt his face burn with embarrassment. He wanted to run over and slap his teammates, but quickly realized he couldn't, leaving him dejectedly leaning against them.
"How did you get caught?" Ditongjia asked quietly.
The others exchanged glances, unsure of where to begin. They had arrived at Red Mountain Planet full of confidence and bravado, only to end up as prisoners in a blink of an eye. The bitterness of their predicament was hard to convey.
When asked how they were captured, they were at a loss for words and collectively sighed. They had lived too comfortably and foolishly came to Red Mountain Planet looking for trouble with the Saiyans.
"Big Brother, we really shouldn't mess with the Saiyans. They're like a band of bandits!" Jack whispered.
This lesson was learned the hard way. The Saiyans were a warrior race, and they didn't hold back in a fight. Remembering the brutal training of Saiyan children back on Planet Vegeta, it was no wonder they were ruthless to invaders. If not for Shalyn's orders to capture them alive, Ditongjia and his team might not have survived.
"It was a miscalculation. Who would have thought the Saiyans still had such powerful warriors hidden away? Hopefully, they'll spare us since we're also Galactic Patrol mercenaries," Ditongjia said, his voice low and somber. For someone as proud as him, admitting this was painful.
"But what if the Saiyans don't let us go?" Jack murmured, his previous bravado gone.
The group fell silent. They were at the mercy of the Saiyans now. They hoped that their status as Galactic Patrol mercenaries would save them from severe punishment, though some suffering seemed inevitable.
"What are you murmuring about? Don't you have any sense of being prisoners?" The Saiyan guard scolded them. Ditongjia and his team snorted but fell silent.
A few Saiyans came over and led them to a small room. Behind a desk, a petite female Saiyan sat on a couch.
Shalyn picked up a report and, comparing it with the data, said, "The Guard reports that you came to Red Mountain Planet to cause trouble for the Saiyans?"
"Misunderstanding, it's all a misunderstanding. We're also with the Galactic Patrol. We just came to check on our comrades," Ditongjia smiled, denying his previous statements.
"Oh?" Shalyn glanced at him and slammed the report down. "I don't believe that!"
The crisp sound made Ditongjia and his team flinch, their expressions changing rapidly. Could it be that the Saiyans wouldn't let them go?
Ditongjia said, "Our Ditongjia Guard is considered top-tier within the Galactic Patrol. I didn't expect we wouldn't be a match for you Saiyans. Look at our ship; it's equipped by the Galactic Patrol. You should believe us."
"You will be investigated to determine if you are indeed mercenaries for the Galactic Patrol. Take them away!" Shalyn waved her hand, then turned to the nearby Saiyans, "They seem to have good stamina. Assign them to some heavy labor. Let's not waste this resource."
She then addressed a nearby Fidaian, "Also, contact the Galactic Patrol and inform them that we have Ditongjia and his team. Ask them if these people are indeed their mercenaries."
Shalyn was no fool; she wouldn't have become Xavier and Adriel's assistant otherwise. Seeing Ditongjia, she immediately sensed that the Galactic Patrol might be involved. These brutish-looking men seemed like pawns being used to test Red Mountain Planet's strength.
The Galactic Patrol must be using them to probe the Saiyans' capabilities. Without their permission or instigation, why would Ditongjia and his team foolishly provoke the Saiyans on Red Mountain Planet? Even if this action was Ditongjia's own doing, didn't the Galactic Patrol bear some responsibility?
Their inaction suggested many things. It seemed the Galactic Patrol still had reservations or internal conflicts regarding the Saiyans. Using Ditongjia's team to test the Saiyans and perhaps intimidate them a bit was likely beneficial for them.
What a cunning Galactic Patrol! What a crafty Galactic King!
The more Shalyn thought about it, the more complicated it seemed. Her eyes flashed coldly as she squinted.
If the Galactic Patrol wanted to test Red Mountain Planet's strength, then let them see it! They needed to display some power to prevent being underestimated.
Sometimes, a proper display of strength is essential for survival in the universe.
"Understood!" The Saiyan guards responded loudly, eyeing Ditongjia and his team with malicious intent.
Ditongjia watched everything, his body stiffening, and a grim smile appeared on his face.
He wasn't particularly afraid of the upcoming labor. In truth, he didn't mind hard work that much. The problem was his reputation. If the Galactic Patrol found out he was captured, his reputation would be utterly ruined!
This was more unbearable than any punishment for Ditongjia.
