Chapter 118: Arrangements

Xavier always felt a deep regret whenever he thought about Launch's ultimate fate in the original story. It seemed like such a waste of an important character. Launch was, after all, a key figure in the early stages of the original series, much like Yamcha, who helped drive the plot forward.

Of course, her screen time was not as significant as that of Yamcha or Krillin, especially after the Dragon Ball series transitioned from a children's comedic manga to a more intense shonen series following the King Piccolo saga. Even characters like Yamcha faded into the background, so it was no surprise that a character like Launch, originally designed to lighten the narrative, was eventually sidelined.

However, since he had encountered her in this life, Xavier was determined not to let Launch end up working at a delivery company as she did in the original. It seemed like such a waste of her potential. Whether it was due to his childhood attachment or simply not wanting to see this ordinary girl continue to wander aimlessly, he felt compelled to help her.

With this in mind, Xavier made his decision. He crouched down and gently said, "Launch, it's not safe for a young girl like you to be out here on your own. How about you stay with me?"

He genuinely needed someone kind-hearted, diligent, and pure to help manage household chores. Expecting Saiyans like Celine or Merus to handle such tasks was unrealistic. Launch, however, seemed perfect for the role.

"Sir, you are willing to take me in?" Launch's eyes welled up with tears again as she looked at him pitifully.

Xavier chuckled. He hadn't expected Launch to be such a crybaby as a child. No wonder she grew up to be so gentle. But wasn't she worried that he might be a trafficker? It seemed that the existence of blonde Launch made sense as a form of self-protection!

"Yes, if you are willing, you can stay with me from now on." Xavier nodded affirmatively and gently patted Launch's head to calm her down.

Launch looked at Xavier with her bright eyes and quietly nodded. "That's good. Let's get ready; I want to take you to a place." Xavier smiled warmly and then took Launch to the nearby clothing store to buy her some new clothes.

Although the store had been wrecked by Mercenary Tao just yesterday, there were still many items left. Launch's eyes sparkled as she looked at the various styles of clothing.

Tying a red ribbon in Launch's hair, Xavier stepped back to take a good look. Yes, this was how Launch was supposed to look!

"Xavier, you don't need to buy so much. I can't wear all of this." Launch stood there, flustered, as Xavier filled bag after bag with different outfits, seemingly intent on clearing out the store.

Even though she was young, she knew that all of this must cost a lot of money.

"It's alright, it's called being prepared. We can buy more now, and you'll have clothes to wear as you grow up."

Xavier continued to gather various outfits, stuffing them into bags while the shop assistant sweated profusely, keeping track of everything. Considering these clothes were for Launch, Xavier decided not to use his dimensional space and instead packed everything into a few universal capsules he had brought from Bulma's home.

The universal capsules were indeed incredibly convenient. Whether it was a box or a house, as long as it was a tangible object, it could be stored inside. Carrying everything without occupying any space made them essential for both home use and travel. If Red Mountain Planet could adopt this technology, it would make life much easier. Fortunately, the Fidain scientists were currently collaborating with Dr. Brief, so widespread adoption was on the horizon.

Leaving the clothing store, Xavier suddenly remembered Celine and Merus. He couldn't show favoritism, so he also purchased some items for them.

He handed a capsule containing nearly a hundred outfits to Launch. She held it tightly, then carefully placed it into her satchel, her eyes brimming with gratitude as she looked at Xavier.

"Xavier, you're so good to me..."

Launch's voice was choked with emotion. She had been wandering alone for so long since leaving her village, and no one had ever treated her so kindly.

Xavier shrugged it off with a smile. Blue-haired Launch was a pure-hearted girl, so naturally, he wanted to be kind to her. "Let's go. I'm taking you to a place next!"

With a whoosh, Xavier took off, holding Launch as they flew leisurely towards Korin Tower. Given Launch's current delicate state, he couldn't take her to Red Mountain Planet, nor did he feel comfortable leaving her to live alone. So, he decided to let her stay at Korin Tower for the time being.

More importantly, by placing Launch with Korin, he might even learn the method of cultivating Senzu Beans, which was another consideration of his.

After flying for a long time, they finally saw the towering structure of Korin Tower connecting the heavens and the earth.

"Wow, what's that building? It's so tall!"

Launch's exclamation echoed as she gradually adapted to the flight. She began to take in the rapidly passing lakes and forests below with curiosity, but she couldn't contain her amazement when she saw Korin Tower.

Xavier smiled and explained, "That's Korin Tower, the sacred ground of martial arts. At the top lives Korin, a master and the origin of Earth's martial arts."

Launch nodded, half-understanding. She had no real concept of martial arts, though her blonde counterpart might know a bit.

Just then, a strand of hair tickled her nose, and Launch sneezed. Her blue hair instantly turned blonde, and her demeanor became fierce.

"She turned blonde!" Noticing the change, Xavier's lips curled into a slight smile. The dual personality transformation was something he'd only seen on TV before, and witnessing it in real life was intriguing.

"Hey, who are you? Why are you holding me? Let go of me right now!" Blonde Launch struggled in his arms, finding the princess carry quite unnatural.

"Are you sure you want me to let go? You won't regret it?"

As Xavier's question registered, Blonde Launch instinctively sensed something was wrong. Before she could react, she felt him actually let go. "Waaah!" Her terrified scream echoed as she traced a perfect arc through the air, mountains and forests whizzing past her eyes. A wave of fear surged through her, and her face turned as white as a sheet.

"See? I told you that you'd regret it if I let go!" Xavier's voice echoed in her ears. Just as she was about to crash into the trees below, Blonde Launch felt herself being caught again.

"Who exactly are you, and where are you taking me?" Blonde Launch's voice trembled, lacking the previous bravado.

"Still don't want me to put you down?"

"Like hell I want you to put me down!"

Blonde Launch whimpered, clutching even tighter. Falling from this height would surely be fatal. She couldn't help but curse her other self. What kind of person had she gotten involved with? She must have been tricked!

"Hahaha, hold on tight!" Xavier laughed heartily. As they approached Korin Tower, his flight path turned into a vertical ascent, soaring parallel to the tower.

"Ahhh!!"

A piercing scream echoed through the cold wind. Blonde Launch was terrified out of her mind. The only way to handle her fiery personality was with an even more intense approach.

With a whoosh, Xavier landed on Korin Tower, holding Launch tightly. Korin, leaning on his staff, watched speechlessly. Blonde Launch, now utterly disoriented and almost frothing at the mouth, was set down gently. Her legs gave way, and she collapsed to the ground, crying uncontrollably.

"Xavier, what are you doing? You scared the poor girl to tears," Korin remarked, shaking his head.

Xavier chuckled and said, "I plan to have Launch stay here for a while. Didn't you need someone to take care of the Senzu Beans? Blue-haired Launch is kind and gentle, perfect for the job. As for Blonde Launch, you can train her hard!"

"I see, you just want me to work for free. Anyway, even if you learn the method to grow Senzu Beans, you won't be able to without the Ultra Divine Water," Korin replied indifferently.

"Of course, I won't let you help for nothing!" Xavier pulled out a box of universal capsules. "These are filled with your favorite foods, as a token of my gratitude!"

"So, you had this all planned out!" Korin licked his paw and swiftly pocketed the capsules. "But since we're old friends, I'll agree to your simple request."

Living alone on Korin Tower was quite dull. Training the girl would be a good way to pass the time. Ever since Xavier descended to the mortal world, Korin had been observing his actions and was well aware of the unique traits of this girl.
