Chapter 91: Bardock's Plan

"The next issue is the defense of Red Mountain Planet. To ensure the safety of Red Mountain Planet, we need to establish a specialized combat force dedicated to its protection! In addition, there's the matter of training the young Saiyans. These actions must be implemented as soon as possible…"

Not knowing the cost of firewood, rice, oil, and salt until one becomes the head of a household, Xavier realized that once one assumes the role of leader, the responsibilities are indeed overwhelming.

Although he could not personally attend to all these matters, given that this was the foundation-building phase of his leadership, many issues still required his direct supervision. Some responsibilities had to be shouldered, not carelessly dismissed.

At that moment, Xavier couldn't help but wonder how King Vegeta had managed it all.

Indeed, a ruler's long and prosperous reign isn't just about wielding mighty power; it also requires a fair share of governing wisdom and a capable management team at his disposal.

On the military front, Xavier had no issues, but his management team paled in comparison to King Vegeta's. The available talents were only Adriel and Belruk, indicative of a venture still in its early, troubled stages. Sometimes, he thought it would be better if a group of intellectuals could emerge among the Saiyans.

Of course, this thought was fleeting. Xavier quickly shifted his focus to the Phrygians. Perhaps, the ideal force composition could be achieved by combining the scholarly nature of the Phrygians with the martial prowess of the Saiyans— a perfect symbiotic relationship!

"We can select the strongest among the current Saiyans to form the Red Mountain Guard. Let's tentatively set the number at 1000 members!" Xavier proposed the idea of establishing the Red Mountain Guard.

The scale of the guard was determined by the number of Saiyans, as their population was not large enough to allow for rapid expansion of the force.

Xavier continued, "The focus should be on the training of the underage Saiyans. I want to select a group from them, divide them into several teams for training, aiming to eventually form several special operations squads like the Ginyu Force."

"If we teach these Saiyans the method of cultivating 'Ki', I believe they will quickly form a formidable fighting force!"

Adriel immediately understood Xavier's intentions and his eyes lit up, already foreseeing the terror of the Ginyu Force.

He nodded earnestly, saying, "You're right, Xavier. The Saiyans of Red Mountain Planet won't stay confined forever, so it's better to start training the special forces sooner rather than later. And establishing a conventional force for guarding Red Mountain Planet should also begin now, starting with the strongest Saiyans available."

"In that case, Shalyn, compile a list of the strongest Saiyans," Xavier turned to the female Saiyan.

"Yes!" Shalyn responded, standing tall, her graceful figure unmistakable.

"As for the personnel of the special forces, Celine and I will personally select them. They will be the core strength of Red Mountain Planet!" Xavier said with a slight smile.

"Alright, let's proceed with that plan!"

Over the next few days, Xavier and Adriel were busy with personnel issues.

Adriel's task was relatively straightforward. After receiving the list of Saiyan warriors from Shalyn, the Red Mountain Guard was quickly assembled.

It must be said that Saiyans are naturally qualified warriors; there was never a need to forcibly conscript anyone.

On the contrary, when the leaders like Xavier announced the formation of the Red Mountain Guard, Saiyans eagerly signed up, even competing in several bouts to secure a spot!

With the final roster announced, those Saiyans who didn’t make the cut returned home with disappointment and immediately began intense training, as if not being selected was a matter of great shame. This behavior baffled several observing Phrygians, who found it hard to comprehend the Saiyan mindset.

The Red Mountain Guard's primary duty was to ensure the safety of the entire planet. Given that nearby planets posed no threat to Red Mountain Planet, the guards, like other Saiyans, used their time to engage in various forms of training.

Xavier's responsibilities were more complicated, as the special forces team would be the first to undergo training in "Ki," requiring meticulous selection of its members.

It took two weeks to establish the personnel framework.

Xavier selected eighty-five underage Saiyans, most of whom were quite young, as younger individuals are less influenced by conventional ideas and more malleable.

Despite their youth, these children were already aware of what was expected of them and were extremely excited from the moment they were chosen.

Among Xavier's squad, Shakda, Atasya, Jelin, Rida, Belit, and others, although slightly older, had already been exposed to the concept of Ki and were included for further detailed training in its use.

Apart from these familiar faces, the young leader among these children was Merus.

Having narrowly escaped death through a rift in time, Merus turned misfortune into a blessing, with her power level skyrocketing to 1600, making the already exceptional child even more outstanding, and her inclusion in the special forces was a certainty.

However, perhaps due to inherent disapproval, Celine and Merus did not get along well. Whenever they were together, tension was evident, with neither willing to back down.

Celine disliked how Merus clung to Xavier all day, while Merus was prideful, her haughty demeanor causing Celine much frustration. Yet, Adriel was particularly fond of Merus, even going so far as to adopt her as his goddaughter!

Following her parents' involvement in King Vegeta's rebellion and their subsequent deaths in the destruction of Planet Vegeta, Merus, now alone, moved into Adriel’s home under Rebecca's arrangement.

Celine grew even angrier, her face puffing up as her starry eyes continuously drifted towards Xavier.

Xavier protested his innocence, insisting it wasn’t his fault! Who could have known that after saving her on Planet Vegeta, Merus’s attitude towards him would take a complete 180-degree turn? From being displeased by his mere presence to earnestly seeking his guidance, becoming so persistent that Xavier couldn’t shake him off!

Perhaps the death of her parents left her deeply troubled, her heart urgently wishing to become stronger! Xavier found himself unable to dislike this little one, who was just over five years old.

Eventually, the embryonic form of the Special Forces was established, with eighty-five young Saiyans divided into twelve groups, each consisting of six or seven, starting their training.

...

Nestled near the city center was a luxurious villa, the new home of Bardock.

Rich aromas wafted from the kitchen where Gine, clad in an apron, was cooking. Her petite frame moved back and forth, humming a tune while expertly plating the dishes.

Since arriving on Red Mountain Planet, Bardock had quickly located his wife, and through the arrangements made by Adriel, they had secured their own home.

Seeing his wife safe and sound, Bardock was emotionally stirred, and soon after, the couple settled down in the luxurious villa in the heart of the city.

As Gine served the steaming food and took off her apron, the two sat down at the dining table. Honestly, Gine felt these days on Red Mountain Planet were some of her most peaceful.

“Bardock, when will we go to Earth to bring Kakarot back?” Gine asked softly.

Bardock set down his utensils, pondered for a moment, and shook his head, “I don’t plan to bring Kakarot back!”

“Why not? Kakarot is our child,” Gine exclaimed, her emotion intensifying.

“Because I can see fragments of the future, albeit scattered, but I know that Kakarot will start a new life on Earth, which will greatly aid his growth!”

“But, he’s my child!”

Bardock smiled and said, “Kakarot will become the legendary Super Saiyan!”

“Super Saiyan?”

Gine paused, then recalled the ancient legend.

“How can Kakarot, a low-class warrior, become the legendary Super Saiyan?” Gine asked quietly.

“I was skeptical too, but the destruction of Planet Vegeta confirmed what I saw. The curse of Planet Kanassa does let me see the future!” Bardock looked up earnestly at Gine, “Frieza will die at the hands of Kakarot, defeated by a Super Saiyan!”

“That’s why I must not interfere with Kakarot’s growth.”

“But if you want to see Kakarot, we could discreetly observe his progress.”

Understanding dawned on Gine, who nodded sagely, showing deep understanding concerning her youngest son’s development.

"By the way, Bardock, does your head still hurt?"

"Ah, it comes and goes, and when it does, it's truly unbearable!"

"What can we do? Why not ask Lord Xavier for help? He might have some way to alleviate it," Gine suggested, her eyes brightening.

"It's not that simple."

Bardock furrowed his brows slightly and shook his head despondently. Lord Xavier was aware of his condition; such curses were not easily dispelled, and Bardock held little hope for a solution.

"I wonder how Raditz is doing now, staying with Prince Vegeta can't be easy," Gine said softly.

Due to Vegeta and the others being under Frieza's constant surveillance, Bardock had no opportunity to bring Raditz over. In the end, although they had two sons, it was just Bardock and Gine living together.

"Look, Gine, don't be so melancholy. Why don't we have another child..."

Bardock's eyes gleamed as he looked at Gine, causing a blush to rise on her delicate face. She gave him an annoyed glance and said, "Is this really the time to be thinking about that?"

"Isn't it the perfect time? Red Mountain Planet is in need of more people, shouldn't we do our part?"

"Just eat your food!"

Gine grabbed a beast's claw from the plate and stuffed it into Bardock's mouth, then hurriedly got up and ran out. Bardock chewed on the beast claw, a warm smile spreading across his face.
