Chapter 88: A New Beginning

The world of Dragon Ball is filled with a myriad of peculiar powers, from technology and psychic abilities to magic and secret techniques—all significant in their own right. Yet, in a universe where personal martial prowess is paramount, these unique talents often get overshadowed by the sheer intensity of energy-based attacks.

The curse of the Planet Kanassa is inclined towards the realm of magic. Xavier, unfamiliar with magic, felt utterly helpless witnessing Bardock's torment.

Fortunately, Bardock's pain was like a fierce storm—swift in its arrival and equally quick in departure. Soon, he was back to normal, his breathing steady once again.

"You must have been struck by the curse of the Planet Kanassa, what did you see?" Xavier furrowed his brow in concern but was curious as Bardock seemed to regain his composure.

Wiping the sweat from his brow, Bardock gave Xavier a puzzled look, wondering how he knew about his condition. Given that Xavier mentioned the curse, Bardock saw no need for secrets and shook his head, "Just a jumble of chaotic fragments, all haphazardly assembled, making no sense at all."

"I see," Xavier nodded, realizing how the fragmented and tangled memories brought on by the curse could indeed be difficult to untangle.

"By the way, you mentioned earlier that my wife has been moved somewhere else, what exactly happened?" Bardock calmed down and inquired about the situation on Planet Vegeta.

To a Saiyan like Bardock, Planet Vegeta held extraordinary significance. However, with the planet now destroyed, he refrained from asking how it happened, instead, he was more concerned about the wellbeing of his family, specifically his wife Gine.

"Take it easy!" Xavier, noting Bardock's likeness to a future Goku with almost ninety percent similarity, smiled reassuringly and gestured for patience before elaborating, "It’s a long story, actually. Long ago, we became aware of Frieza's ambitions and anticipated that he would never tolerate the Saiyans as a potential threat. Therefore, we ventured across the universe early on to find a planet suitable for Saiyan habitation and used a mystical force to relocate a portion of the Saiyan population to that planet."

"Rest assured, your wife was included in this relocation list. She should now be safe with other Saiyans on Red Mountain Star, located in the Eastern Galaxy."

Listening intently, Bardock nodded in relief upon hearing of his wife's safety, grateful that she and some of their people were spared from disaster.

Bardock looked at Xavier with deep gratitude, his lips moved but no sound emerged.

Xavier noticed Bardock's expression and nodded silently, satisfied that his efforts to aid had not been in vain. As the original Super Saiyan from the canon, having Bardock on his side or maintaining a good relationship with him would be immensely beneficial.

"By the way, Bardock, do you know which planet we are on?" Xavier asked, scanning their surroundings.

To use psychic powers for instant transmission, one needs to know the spatial coordinates between two planets to set the direction.

Frowning slightly, Bardock looked around and recognized some features of the planet. "The vegetation here has needle-like tips. If I'm not mistaken, this should be Planet Dala, about a star sector away from Planet Vegeta."

He then used an energy detector to confirm the current planet's coordinates and, following Xavier's cue, destroyed the device.

"Alright, knowing the coordinates is enough. I'll take everyone away from here first, then head to Red Mountain Star," Xavier said with a smile, briefly explaining how instant transmission works.

"Such a miraculous ability!" Bardock exclaimed in surprise. Considering the reality of the Planet Kanassa's curse, instant transmission didn't seem so far-fetched. Nodding in agreement, he stood beside Xavier.

At that moment, the young Merus regained consciousness from her daze. Realizing she was no longer on Planet Vegeta, she looked around curiously.

"Are we going back? But without a spaceship, how can we leave this place?"

Her memory didn't include anything about the space-time rift; her last recollection was the terrifying destruction of Planet Vegeta, leaving her utterly confused about how she arrived here.

"I naturally have a way!" Xavier chuckled, without giving further explanation.

Merus felt slighted by the disregard, her pride wounded. Although she no longer disliked Xavier as before and even held some admiration for the strong, her pride made it hard for her to accept being ignored. She pouted, appearing sulky and upset.

Seeing this, Xavier smiled gently, paying no heed to the little girl's demeanor. He glanced at Bardock, signaling for them to extend their hands, then closed his eyes to initiate instant transmission. With the power of space-time enhanced, his ability to teleport had grown significantly stronger.

……

On the barren Planet Arid, the winds swept the yellow sands relentlessly, the climate as cold as ever.

Five days had passed since the destruction of Planet Vegeta, and there had been no word from Xavier. Concern grew among his companions, although they tried not to show it.

"Alice sighed, pacing the living room, "Xavier has been gone for so many days, why hasn’t he returned yet?"

Rebecca chimed in, "Yeah, by now Planet Vegeta must have been destroyed."

"Celine must be worried sick, those two have never been apart this long!" Alice added.

"Let's just hope Xavier returns soon..." Rebecca sighed deeply.

Alice suddenly laughed, "Honestly, you parents haven't looked after Celine as much as Xavier has. That kid is so close to him, you guys just don’t measure up…"

"Heh, we're all family here. There’s no difference between us caring for her and Xavier doing it. Do you think Celine doesn't see us as her parents?" Rebecca laughed. It was natural for the family to be close to each other.

Just then, Adriel's booming voice came from outside: "Everyone come out, Xavier is back!"

"See, we were just talking about Xavier and here he is," Alice said with a spring-like smile, her petite frame swiftly bouncing to the door.

In a short while, Adriel, Shakda, and others gathered, and soon fifteen figures congregated on the cold, dim hills.

"Master Adriel!" a crisp voice of a little girl called out from afar. It was Merus, waving her arms and shouting upon seeing Adriel.

"Ah, little Merus is here too."

Adriel grinned broadly, crouching down to take a closer look at his disciple. Then he noticed Bardock standing beside him, his expression tightening with shock.

This Bardock was more powerful than himself!

Adriel felt a strong sense of pressure emanating from Bardock. Having been involved in the evacuation list, Adriel was familiar with Bardock's story. He knew that Bardock was a Saiyan warrior who had climbed from low ranks to strength through sheer determination and prowess.

Respectful of such a trajectory, Adriel had a favorable impression of fighters who rose from the bottom. However, he had not anticipated that Bardock's power would increase so rapidly, reaching a level comparable to his own, perhaps even higher.

"You must be Mr. Bardock. I am Adriel, the captain of the Adriel squad!" Adriel snapped back to reality, greeting warmly.

Surprised by the Saiyans he now faced, Bardock was also taken aback. Besides a few minors, he noticed that the other Saiyans possessed tremendous power, a revelation that excited him, making his blood boil slightly.

"Hello!"

The group began to interact, slowly becoming familiar with one another. As they learned about the complete destruction of Planet Vegeta, everyone felt a deep sense of poignancy, especially upon hearing how Bardock had fought valiantly alone to protect Planet Vegeta until the very end. The respect in their eyes for Bardock was palpable.

Indeed, Bardock epitomized the spirit of a true Saiyan warrior!

Here, excluding Xavier and Celine, Bardock's combat prowess was unmatched.

"Uncle Adriel, now that Planet Vegeta is gone, there's no point in staying here. We should head to Red Mountain Star," Xavier suggested.

"Yes, it's time to move on!" Adriel, with a complex expression, glanced towards where Planet Vegeta once thrived. Now, only cosmic dust scattered in that direction, a silent testament to the former glory of the Saiyan homeworld.

"Indeed, there are many matters to attend to on Red Mountain Star, and we should set off as soon as possible!" Belruk added coldly. As the administrator ranking just below Adriel, while Adriel was in charge of Saiyan combat training, Belruk handled the day-to-day governance of their people.

Red Mountain Star, as the new stronghold for the Saiyans, had suddenly become home to nearly ten thousand Saiyans. Without proper management, the situation could easily spiral out of control.

"Once the Saiyans of Red Mountain Star flourish, we will settle our score with Frieza!"

The group spoke passionately, setting a firm goal for themselves.

After the destruction of Planet Vegeta, the Saiyans of Red Mountain Star would be the only remaining lineage of their kind in the universe. However, they believed that the Saiyans of Red Mountain Star would indeed reach new heights of prosperity.
