Chapter 84: The Destruction of Planet Vegeta

"But even with a battle power of 140,000, how does that compare? My regular battle power stands at 530,000! Ants will always be ants, incapable of shaking the mighty trees," Frieza muttered, a sinister gleam flashing in his blood-red eyes. His finger extended once more, conjuring another massive Planet Destroyer Bomb.

"Saiyan, even if you could catch one Planet Destroyer Bomb, could you handle a second?" Frieza smiled faintly as the enormous shadow was cast down, the second bomb following the trajectory of the first, quickly meeting and merging with it, its power dramatically amplified. Xavier was instantly overwhelmed.

"Truly, it is Frieza, summoning such powerful energy spheres effortlessly, without even breaking a sweat. I am not yet his match," Xavier felt as he acknowledged the overwhelming strength of his opponent, disheartened that he couldn't even withstand a casual strike from Frieza.

However, he quickly rallied his spirits, reminding himself that he was still young, only twelve and just entering puberty—a time when his strength could surge unexpectedly.

"If not now, then in the future! What king of the universe? He will be but a stepping stone on my path to becoming a stronger warrior."

"Bardock, it seems that the destruction of Planet Vegeta is inevitable," Xavier accepted this grim reality calmly, ready to retreat if necessary.

However—

"No, I won't let Planet Vegeta be destroyed!"

A voice of defiance echoed through the air, Bardock’s throat dry, his expression desolate. The destruction of Planet Vegeta would mean the death of his wife, Gine. Unwilling to witness such a calamity, he did not retreat but instead prepared to single-handedly catch the destroyer bomb.

Yet the outcome was the same; Bardock's power was far from sufficient.

Seeing this, Xavier shook his head and said, "Don’t worry, Bardock. When Planet Vegeta is destroyed, 15,000 Saiyans, including you and your wife, will be transported away. You’re on the list."

His assurance seemed bizarre, and Bardock, failing to comprehend, persisted in his doomed effort. Xavier frowned, swiftly knocking Bardock unconscious, then used instant transmission to return several people to the ground.

"Huh, we're back on the ground?" Merus mumbled, disoriented from the confusion.

Looking up, a blazing fireball inched closer to the ground. As it descended continuously, the atmosphere churned violently, invisible shockwaves spreading out like parted seas in all directions.

Finally, the destroyer bomb struck the crust, and a thunderous boom shook the stars. The surface violently spewed up countless massive pillars of lava, thousands of kilometers high, as the tectonic plates fractured explosively at that moment.

At the very moment the Planet Destroyer bomb descended, the fate of Planet Vegeta was sealed.

With the sound of cracking echoing, the planet's core bulged and rose dramatically, causing the planet to expand rapidly. At this point, the horrifying surge of energy intensified, pushing Planet Vegeta to the brink of destruction.

However, at the moment the core shattered, specks of dazzling, misty light suddenly appeared across the planet. The wish made a year ago using the Dragon Balls started to take effect, and those of the fifteen thousand listed survivors began to glow with a crystalline radiance.

In the basement of the Bardock household.

Gine was squatting with her knees hugged to her chest in front of the alloy door, her delicate face pressed against her knees. Her hands clasped together, she silently prayed for her husband and child.

Suddenly, a shimmering light began to rise from her, leaving Gine in awe, speechless, before she transformed into a wisp of glowing light and vanished without a trace.

This scene was replicated all over Planet Vegeta. As the planet faced imminent destruction, countless listed Saiyans were transported away by the power of the Dragon Balls, but those killed directly by the destroyer bomb were not so fortunate; the Dragon's power only saved those still alive.

"Wow, what’s happening? Why am I glowing?" Merus curiously touched his luminescent skin.

Soon after, Bardock too began to glow.

"It’s because you're about to leave Planet Vegeta."

Seeing the glow on Bardock and Merus, Xavier realized the Dragon's power was in effect, and they would soon be transported to Planet Cereal.

"I should leave too." Xavier watched the doomed Planet Vegeta and the many confused Saiyans, thinking to himself.

But just as he prepared to use Instant Transmission to escape, something unexpected occurred. The sky cracked open like glass, releasing a deep and powerful chaotic airflow, and before they could react, Xavier and the others were sucked into it.

"What on earth is happening?"

Caught off guard by the sudden turn of events, Xavier struggled to stabilize himself, but the powerful gravitational pull of the spatial rift slowly dragged them in, making escape impossible.

He realized that the force erupting from the spatial rift seemed similar to the time-space abilities he wielded.

"This energy... it’s the power of space-time!"

Xavier's pupils dilated suddenly, and his expression turned grave as he remembered something crucial.

"That's right, the original Bardock didn’t die but fell into a time-space rift during the destruction of Planet Vegeta and was sent back to the ancient past. Could this be that same rift?"

Immediately, Xavier knew they were in trouble!

In the original narrative, Bardock didn’t perish in the explosion of Planet Vegeta. Instead, he traveled through a time-space rift to ancient Planet Vegeta, then known as Planet Plant.

There, Bardock encountered the ancestor of the Frieza Clan, the space pirate Zild, and ultimately transformed into a Super Saiyan to defeat him, giving rise to the legend of the "Super Saiyan" among both the Saiyans and the Frieza Clan—an inherent part of the original narrative's lore of time travel!

Planet Vegeta was actually located at a weak point in the space-time continuum, and the force of its destruction precisely ripped open a gateway through time, with the other side of the rift leading to the ancient world.

"Oh no, I can't be going back to the ancient times!"

Xavier was immensely frustrated, remembering that scene at this critical moment. Clenching his teeth, he quickly moved towards Bardock and Merus, but the massive gravitational pull of the space swallowed them up.

...

In the tranquil vastness of space.

Planet Vegeta, like a colossal firework, blazed with one last burst of brilliance before it dimly vanished from the cosmos, along with the once indomitable Saiyan race.

Of course, this was the perception of most civilizations in the universe.

How many civilizations rejoiced upon learning of the Saiyans' demise, and how many simply scoffed at the news?

In the distant Eastern Galaxy, within the Cereal Star System.

Two brilliantly colorful planets orbited each other, one a smaller azure planet.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Yardratians, a large city capable of housing tens of thousands now stood on Planet Cereal, neatly divided into training, residential, and leisure zones, greatly fulfilling the varied needs of the Saiyans.

The first group of over three thousand Saiyans had gradually adapted to life here.

A new dawn broke, sunlight bathing the land.

The Saiyans engaged in various exercises as usual, with the training zone becoming their favorite spot because the equipment there greatly stimulated their strength development, whereas the leisure zone remained underappreciated.

As they prepared for another day.

The sky suddenly lit up with dazzling, colorful hues, like streaks of rainbows that made the Saiyans stop and watch in awe.

Soon after, figures in black plummeted down like raindrops, the twelvefold gravity catching the newly arrived Saiyans off guard.

"Hey! Those look like Saiyans, did something happen to Planet Vegeta?" some of the surrounding Saiyans changed their expressions dramatically and all flew towards where the figures were landing.

In a dense forest, over ten thousand Saiyans fell, and since most were severely injured, only a few hundred could withstand the crushing force of the twelvefold gravity.

"What place is this?"

"Weren’t we on Planet Vegeta? How did we suddenly end up here?"

"The gravity here is so strong; this isn’t Planet Vegeta anymore."

The leading Saiyans surveyed their surroundings, confirming that they were no longer on Planet Vegeta. As to why they had ended up here, no one could say for sure.
