Chapter 81: Merus in Danger

"Now, the whole of Planet Vegeta has descended into chaos," Gine said, her face clouded with worry as she looked at her husband.

It turned out that Bardock was right; Frieza indeed had ulterior motives. The situation had become crystal clear—Frieza had summoned all Saiyans back to Planet Vegeta to wipe them out in one fell swoop.

She was immensely relieved that she had secretly sent Kakarot away last night, for today the airspace was completely locked down, making it impossible for any spacecraft to take off.

Bardock sat silently on a stool, clutching his headband.

"Gine, come with me, stay inside and do not come out!"

They moved to the basement, where Bardock instructed Gine to hide. He planned to seal the entrance as he left. This basement, originally built to train Kakarot, was extremely sturdy; even if the surface was leveled, it wouldn't affect the space below.

"Bardock, be careful!" Gine watched him with concern. She did not hold him back, knowing that in such critical times her husband could not just stand by.

Bardock nodded solemnly. Gine was just an ordinary low-class warrior, with a power level below two thousand; hiding in the basement was the only way to ensure her safety.

After holding her in a tight embrace, Bardock resolutely walked out of the basement.

He then closed the basement's hatch, completely isolating it from the outside world, donned his battle armor, tied a red ribbon around his head, and resolutely set out...

This battle was almost certainly a fight to the death.

...

In space.

Frieza stood at the ship's window, leisurely gazing at the dark red Planet Vegeta, which reminded him of a delightful red wine, captivating and memorable.

After sipping some wine, the fragrant aroma intoxicated him. Frieza chuckled softly, holding his wine glass as he walked over.

"Mr. Dodoria, look at how beautiful this planet is, just like a ruby. Soon, it will turn into beautiful fireworks!" His raspy voice echoed in the hall, his face drunk with anticipation, radiating a chilling coldness.

Dodoria cruelly laughed, "Lord Frieza, all units are ready. Just awaiting your command, and then those proud Saiyans will witness your majesty."

"Hoho, Mr. Dodoria, I am very confident in your arrangements."

Frieza gently patted Dodoria's shoulder, floated up, and stood hands behind his back at the window, his tail swinging leisurely behind him.

Frieza spoke coldly: "Have the first and second legions lead the assault, the third and fourth legions to follow. I want them to breach Planet Vegeta within half an hour, after which Planet Vegeta shall vanish from the cosmos."

"Yes!" Dodoria responded eagerly, his eyes alight with anticipation.

Following Dodoria's gesture, the alien beside him immediately shivered, bowing and hastening out of the control hall to relay Lord Frieza's orders. The first and second legions, the elite of Frieza's forces, were typically stationed on strategically crucial planets.

Particularly, the first legion, the cream of the crop, ranked just below the Ginyu Force and was the most formidable unit within Frieza's army. Some were even stronger than Dodoria himself.

Frieza had summoned these troops to Planet Vegeta specifically to ensure the total annihilation of the Saiyans.

...

By the time Xavier arrived on Planet Vegeta, the battle had already ignited. The once peaceful planet had lost its tranquility, and with the invasion of Frieza's massive army, every Saiyan was fighting fiercely with bloodshot eyes.

They fought bravely, unleashing their full power. Bright, dazzling energy waves streaked across the sky, leaving behind beautiful, mottled trails amidst the relentless explosions.

The ground shook with the thunderous roars of the explosions, especially when Saiyans with power levels over 10,000 joined the fray. The scene resembled the apocalypse—explosions lifted debris that obscured the sky, plunging Planet Vegeta into darkness.

The earth trembled, and the sky had lost its original color. Massive energy waves, like furious dragons, roared and howled through the atmosphere...

Accompanied by the thunderous sounds, visually striking mushroom clouds shot up, the blast waves momentarily clearing the surrounding gloom, only for new clouds to swiftly gather again.

Under the relentless collision of tremendous forces, the planetary plates could no longer withstand the immense pressure and cracked down the middle. Hot lava spurted from the ground, carrying a scorching, pungent smell and blooming into beautifully terrifying flowers.

Stepping forward, Xavier transformed into a blur. He arrived in the city center, witnessing buildings collapsing and Saiyans and aliens battling in every corner.

Whoosh!

Just then, an energy cannon blast emerged from higher ground, flying towards him. Xavier frowned slightly, lifting his palm just in time to catch the incoming energy blast. With a flick of his finger, he sent the football-sized energy orb rebounding away, tracing a brilliant path of light.

With a look of surprise, the aliens, seeing their attack had failed, launched a second wave.

"Seeking death!"

Watching these aliens attempt to kill him, a cold light flashed in Xavier's dark eyes. This time, he would not let them off easily. He turned and took a few steps forward, disappearing suddenly, then reappeared right in front of the attacking aliens.

"Such incredible speed."

The aliens were shocked to see Xavier suddenly appear among them. Quickly regaining their composure, they lifted their energy emitters, charged them, and fired in a swift and fluid motion. These aliens, part of Frieza's fourth legion, all had combat strengths over 2000 with their energy devices equipped.

"Quick on your feet, aren't you? But... like a candle's flame daring to challenge the sun and moon, perish!" Xavier's indifferent voice echoed through the air as he watched the aliens below. A cold smirk played across his handsome features.

He then lifted his palm and swiped through the air with a fierce motion.

Whirl!

As his fingers moved through the air, he suddenly unleashed countless ice-blue energy beams. These beams flickered with dazzling, brilliant lights, striking down like a torrential downpour of water columns.

"Ahh!!!" came the agonizing screams.

Followed by a thunderous boom, a bright white mushroom cloud slowly rose, and the violent shockwave rolled fiercely, instantly melting the rocks around it.

After dispatching several waves of aliens attempting to attack him, Xavier walked down the road as if he was alone in the world. Soon, he located the alien spacecraft and successively destroyed several ships. The remaining aliens then directed all their efforts against Xavier.

But those aliens, with only two to three thousand in combat power, were no match for him. Strolling leisurely, he waved his hand and suppressed all the attacking aliens.

The number of aliens killed by Xavier surged, quickly surpassing a thousand.

Swoosh!

Suddenly, a crystalline beam of light streaked past, revealing a figure.

He saw a small figure fleeing ahead, with a pale yellow alien chasing behind with an energy emitter.

"Merus?"

Surprised, Xavier called out as he spotted the little girl being pursued not far away.

"Waaah!" a cry tinged with sobs rang out.

Merus panicked and ran in all directions, but the alien was relentless, closing the distance with each step.

At that moment, Merus was terrified.

She had never experienced something so horrifying. After all, she was only about five years old, and the pressure became too much for her as she started crying while running.
