Chapter 79: Bardock's Arrangement

Saiyans scattered across the universe gradually returned to Planet Vegeta. The spaceport was busier than usual, with spacecraft descending from the sky at all times.
Bardock’s massive spaceship approached Planet Vegeta. Under the cover of night, he observed a large formation of ships neatly aligned on the other side of the planet's orbit, seemingly engaged in some operation.
"Look, Mr. Bardock, those are Frieza's ships. What are they doing at Planet Vegeta?" Bos pointed out the ships arranged in a wedge formation ahead, his voice tinged with surprise.
Bardock paused, his expression darkening as he frowned. "Frieza has brought his main forces to Planet Vegeta. Could he truly be intending to start a war?"
As a warrior among the Saiyans, Bardock had always been critical of Frieza, especially after receiving ambiguous visions of the future. His disdain for Frieza was evident as he glared at the fleet.
"That can't be right, can it? We Saiyans have always been loyal to Frieza's missions..." Bos looked incredulous.
"Isn’t it obvious?" Bardock retorted sharply, "I've long suspected Frieza has other plans for the Saiyans, probably fearing the emergence of the legendary Super Saiyan!"
"The Super Saiyan? That's just a legend, even we don't believe it—why would Frieza worry about that?" Bos laughed, his optimism undimmed by the grim prospect.
"It’s hard to say..." Bardock mused, recalling the future vision where his son, Kakarot, transformed into the legendary Super Saiyan and defeated Frieza. A sense of satisfaction filled his heart.
"Let's head back to Planet Vegeta for now and talk about this later," Bardock suggested calmly after a final glance at Frieza’s fleet.
"Alright!" Bos responded cheerfully, piloting the spaceship towards Planet Vegeta.
After landing at the spaceport, Bardock bid farewell to his fellow Saiyans. As he watched his comrades disappear into the distance, he wondered if he should reveal his visions of the future. He tried to speak several times, but the words choked in his throat.
"Maybe it's better unsaid; they wouldn’t believe me anyway," he muttered with a wry smile. Was this the despair spoken of by the elder of Planet Kanassa? To face these pains alone?
No!
Bardock was not despairing. His gaze fixed on the horizon, confident in the future where Kakarot would defeat Frieza for him.
Back home, his wife Gine was cooking in the kitchen, the rich aroma filling the house and bringing a sense of warmth to Bardock.
"Eh, you’re back early?" Gine said, surprised as she emerged with a pot of stew seeing Bardock's early return.
He smiled, setting down his bag and taking the pot from his wife: "Orders from headquarters; all Saiyans have been recalled to Planet Vegeta."
"Has something happened?" Gine asked.
"No, nothing!" Bardock shook his head. "Just a foreboding feeling, as if something is about to happen."
"It's okay, with your strength, what could possibly challenge you?" Gine snuggled into Bardock's embrace, her petite frame sinking into his. She had complete faith in Bardock; although both were low-class warriors, her husband possessed a strength that surpassed many elite fighters.
"Mmm." Holding his wife quietly, Bardock felt a deep sense of peace.
"Is Kakarot still in the incubator?" she asked softly.
"Yes, he’s been there for months now. It’s time to take him out. Do you want to go see him?"
In the basement, a futuristic, egg-shaped incubator filled with a green solution bubbled as a small, tailed infant gurgled inside. This state-of-the-art biological incubator was more advanced than the mass infant chambers typically used, generally reserved for higher-class families. After a brief period in a standard nursery, Bardock had brought Kakarot home to this specialized device.
"He's grown so much!" Bardock exclaimed with a hint of amazement as he watched his son nibbling on his fingers through the green fluid.
"Yes, he looks just like you, especially that unique hairstyle," Gine joked, noting how their second son resembled his father to a tee.
Bardock nodded, watching his son intently for a long moment before closing his eyes and speaking decisively, "When it gets dark, I'll steal a spherical spaceship and exile him to another planet."
"What?" Gine was stunned, strongly objecting. "Why would you do that, and why should he risk his life as an 'Exiled Child'?"
With Bardock's current influence, they could easily protect their son from dangerous missions. Being labeled as an "Exiled Child" could lead to scorn.
"It's for Kakarot's good."
"What do you mean?"
Bardock looked up solemnly. "I have a premonition of death. Frieza is definitely plotting something."
Eventually, Gine was persuaded by Bardock. For their son's safety, she agreed to take the risk.
Deep into the night.
Bardock stealthily appropriated a spherical spacecraft, two meters in diameter, from an old royal warehouse. The couple then carried the spaceship across to a remote desert.
"You, worrying about our child? That’s not like you!" Gine teased as they flew.
"Must have caught your naiveté," Bardock quipped.
"There you go, speaking ill of me again!"
Gine puffed her cheeks in mock indignation, resembling a sulky young girl.
Soon, they reached a rugged desert area strewn with bizarre rocks, far from any Saiyan city—a perfect spot to launch the spacecraft unnoticed.
At that moment, cries of "wah wah wah" echoed from the spherical vessel, as if the infant knew he was about to be separated from his parents. Gine, her heart aching, peered through the clear glass at her son.
"Don't fuss, Kakarot..." Gine said, her voice tinged with reluctance, "Bardock, let's all escape together!"
"It's no use, the detectors will find us quickly. A high energy response would be easily picked up by the planet Tuffles' monitoring devices."
Bardock adjusted the position of the spherical spacecraft and explained, "This is an outdated machine from twenty years ago, it should lack a tracking device. I've set its destination to a remote planet called 'Earth'."
"Though the planet has plentiful water and food, its people and resources are not considered valuable, making it an inconspicuous low-level world."
Gine nodded, then spoke to the child in the spacecraft, "My child, if Bardock is being overly cautious, we'll bring you back soon. But if something really happens, I'll tell Raditz about this..."
"Goodbye, you must survive!"
"Watch out for the Galactic Patrol..."
"Kakarot, you must become a Super Saiyan and defeat Frieza!"
With that, Bardock pressed the spacecraft’s launch button. The craft vibrated violently and then shot into the sky, disappearing quickly into the vast expanse of space.
