Chapter 77: The Curse of Planet Kanassa

Planet Kanassa—a beautiful and mysterious world that few had ever truly known.

Now, this scenic planet was facing a cataclysm. A vast horde of Saiyans from distant stars had descended, embarking on a frenzied slaughter. The lush green planet was left shattered; mountains crumbled, and the ground was littered with rocks and peppered with craters from numerous blasts.

Boom!

A blast wave, laden with immense energy, struck a mountain. The ground shook violently, causing the mountain to disintegrate. Boulders hurtled through the air like cannonballs, smashing into the ground and kicking up clouds of dry dust.

Over a thousand Saiyans laughed maniacally, reveling in the chaos of battle. They flew from one peak to another, like bandits raiding a village, leaving nothing behind but the echoes of explosions and the lives they extinguished.

Amongst the trees and mountains, different animals ran and roared, only to be silenced in an instant by a devastating energy wave that reduced them to dust.

"Bardock, sir, all the lower life forms on Planet Kanassa have been eradicated. Only the native Kanassans remain," reported a skinny Saiyan with glasses, speaking into a communicator.

"Be cautious, everyone," Bardock instructed, nodding gravely. "I’ve heard that the Kanassans can wield some sort of mysterious magic, some of which might even pose a threat to high-level warriors."

On the star maps, Planet Kanassa was located north of Planet Vegeta, having remained peaceful for many years—a sign it was not to be underestimated.

"Yes, sir!" The Saiyan received the order and passed it along.

Bardock watched the apocalyptic scene unfolding around him, a sense of unease growing within him. Somehow, he felt as if something ominous was about to happen.

Three days later, the once-thriving city was now a ruin. Skyscrapers had collapsed, and rubble was strewn everywhere—the civilization had been destroyed in an instant.

The elder of the Kanassans looked over the remnants of his civilization and the countless tribespeople slaughtered, his heart filled with immense sorrow and rage. He glared furiously at the Saiyan invaders, his green pupils flashing with a blood-red light.

"You evil Saiyans will eventually face retribution!" the Kanassan elder roared, his eyes shimmering with fury.

Suddenly, the elder’s expression shifted to a sinister smile, followed by maniacal laughter. A mystical spell allowed him a glimpse into the future.

In that vision, he saw the grim fate of the Saiyans—they too would be destroyed by a force far greater than themselves, and soon.

"Ha-ha-ha, even you Saiyans cannot escape doom. Today you destroy Planet Kanassa, but soon, your homeworld will meet the same fate. Cough, cough... retribution! You Saiyans have committed countless evils, and you will all descend into hell," the elder danced jubilantly, his arms raised as if thanking the heavens.

"Damn it!"

Bardock's face darkened, storm clouds gathering across his brow. He extended a finger, from which a dazzling white beam shot forth, piercing through the chest of the Kanassan elder.

Daring to curse the Saiyans was an act deserving of more than death!

Thud! The elder of Planet Kanassa collapsed to the ground, a gush of blood spurting from his mouth, but his face remained twisted in a maniacal smile. His gaze was like a sharp blade, piercing deep into Bardock’s chest, intensifying the ominous premonition that had been haunting him.

"Even if you kill me now, the future has already been set. You Saiyans cannot escape your fate, cough, cough... We are merely going ahead of you, and I will watch from the underworld as you all descend into hell!"

Bardock’s face clouded over as he responded coolly, "Saiyans will not follow in your footsteps!"

"Cough, cough, it doesn't matter if you don’t believe it now, it’s inevitable!" The elder’s life force was fading, yet he continued to laugh wildly. "Hahaha, with my last bit of strength, I curse you with visions of the future. You will be in constant despair, it will linger in your mind, gradually destroying your will, and making you live in perpetual agony…"

The elder’s eyes bloodshot, his sockets flashing with a sinister red glow, giving him a ghastly and eerie appearance.

Suddenly, Bardock felt a wave of dizziness overwhelm his mind. A series of ethereal and elusive images bombarded his brain, challenging his grasp on what was real and what was illusion.

"Ah!" Bardock cried out in pain and collapsed, unconscious.

After some time, Bardock slowly regained consciousness. He quickly checked himself and found no obvious abnormalities, but his head still felt heavy, and he felt slightly nauseous.

"These damnable people of Planet Kanassa!" Bardock cursed. He had been ambushed by the Kanassan, luckily without any serious consequences.

Glancing at the corpse of the Kanassan elder lying nearby, Bardock’s expression was icy as he unleashed a wave of ki energy from his hand, reducing the body to ashes.

"Bardock sir, it’s good to see you’re alright. We’ve just received a message from headquarters— all Saiyans are to return immediately to Planet Vegeta!"

The communicator at his ear buzzed with the voice of the mission's deputy commander.

"Bos, what's going on?" Bardock furrowed his brow, puzzled by the sudden order from headquarters. What had happened?

Suddenly, another wave of dizziness struck him. Bardock clutched his face and knelt on the ground, feeling as if countless worms were gnawing at his brain.

His vision began to blur...

In the tranquil expanse of space, the dark red Planet Vegeta hung aloft. Not far from it, a multitude of disc-shaped spacecraft were meticulously arranged, from which countless armored cosmic warriors wielding energy cannons swarmed out like locusts, darkening the sky.

The space around Planet Vegeta soon lit up with flashes of light and fire.

The scene shifted.

A figure in a small, egg-shaped spacecraft laughed maniacally, extending a finger. Suddenly, another sun rose in the starry sky—a massive fireball hundreds of meters in diameter with a fierce expression, howling as it hurtled towards Planet Vegeta.

The fireball descended from space.

Its orange-red surface heated the atmosphere to a searing frenzy!

With a thunderous roar that shook the cosmos, the vast Planet Vegeta was engulfed in a cataclysmic explosion, disintegrating into cosmic dust…

"Bardock sir, Bardock sir!" The voice from the communicator kept coming.

"Bos, I'm fine, continue with what was happening…" Bardock, grinding his teeth and trembling all over, his clothes soaked with sweat, managed to respond.

"Yes, sir!" On the other end of the communicator, the mission's deputy commander Bos recounted the situation in detail.

After disconnecting, Bardock’s expression turned cold and grim, his teeth clenched in anger: "What the hell does Frieza want?"

Remembering the bizarre visions that had flashed through his mind, Bardock furrowed his brows.

"With my last bit of strength, I curse you with visions of the future. You will be in constant despair, it will linger in your mind, gradually destroying your will, and making you live in perpetual agony…"

The words of the Planet Kanassa elder echoed in his ears.

"Could it be that what I saw was truly a vision of the future? Is Frieza planning to destroy Planet Vegeta?" Bardock muttered to himself, his hands clenched into fists. Planet Vegeta must not be destroyed!
