Chapter 73: Ah, No More Watching

"Lord of Destruction... Beerus?" Adriel stood rooted to the spot, frowning in contemplation. Despite his vast experience, he had never heard of this title.

Shaking his head, he turned his gaze to Belruk and the others, who were also shaking their heads in confusion. At this point, it was clear that the younger generation like Shakda and Atasya were out of their depth as well.

Xavier, seeing their lack of recognition for the Destroyer’s esteemed title, knew they couldn't grasp his concerns. Beerus had been in deep slumber for many years, and very few in the universe knew of his name.

He sighed lightly and explained, "Lord Beerus is an ancient deity, considered one of the strongest in the universe! Frieza's power compared to the Destroyer is like the light of a firefly vying with the brilliance of the full moon—there is no comparison! Even if Frieza were a thousand, a million times stronger, Lord Beerus would only need to lift a finger to end him!"

"That powerful?" Celine gasped in astonishment.

"Yes, a mere sneeze from him could obliterate Planet Vegeta!" Xavier remarked wistfully.

Even if Frieza’s power were to increase a thousandfold, it would merely bring him to the level of Majin Buu, and yet Beerus could effortlessly eliminate him with a flick of his finger.

A sneeze to destroy Planet Vegeta?

Frieza, a thousand times stronger, yet only needing a finger's twitch?

Hearing Xavier's description, Adriel and the others couldn't help but inhale sharply, their faces filled with shock.

Frieza’s power had seemed unrivaled to them, and now a Destroyer emerges who could easily kill him, even at a power a thousand times greater!

Heaven help us, are we falling behind, or is the world changing too swiftly? In the past, a few thousand in power level could dominate, but now we seem as feeble as ants!

"But... shouldn't a deity like the Destroyer not be concerned with destroying something like Planet Vegeta?" Atasya asked, voicing everyone's confusion.

Xavier shook his head, "Although Lord Beerus is a deity, he governs destruction and annihilation! It's his duty to destroy, and if something displeases him, he can obliterate an entire planet without a second thought."

Such is the capricious nature of a god of destruction!

After hearing Xavier’s explanation, everyone fell silent. According to him, staying on Planet Vegeta was indeed fraught with peril. If the Destroyer were to become displeased, everyone would perish!

They also realized that their own power was trivial in the eyes of true masters.

What pride was there left to hold?

Look at those who casually destroy planets and star systems, setting off cosmic fireworks, while we squabble over trivialities on a tiny planet. Such a comparison shows how small our concerns are!

We are still far behind!

Realistically, Adriel and his group, with their combat strength of over ten thousand, could live quite comfortably in the universe—creatures like Frieza are rare, and gods like Beerus are beyond the usual measure.

Even the younger ones like Shakda could have a good life if they were careful.

Didn't you see Raditz, with his mere power level of over a thousand, swaggering about when he first appeared? He must have encountered other life forms in the universe. His arrogance alone shows that the overall strength of other cosmic beings is quite low.

"You all should stay on this barren planet for now. If Planet Vegeta isn't destroyed in a few days, you can go back. By then, Lord Beerus should have left."

"Ah, there's nothing else to be done!" Adriel nodded reluctantly, conceding to the situation, for now, they had no other choice.

...

On Planet Vegeta.

Beerus strolled leisurely down the main street, his favorite activities, besides causing destruction, being sleeping and seeking out delicious food.

Awakening from his long slumber, Beerus had sneaked away from Whis and wreaked havoc across the galaxy. Any planet that displeased him was obliterated as he set off fireworks along the way, eventually arriving on Planet Vegeta.

On Planet Vegeta, Beerus finally found some decent food, which perhaps spared the planet from immediate destruction.

Just now, he encountered a Saiyan who intrigued him and provided some delicious food. Beerus swore it had been ages—maybe a hundred million or even three hundred million years—since he had tasted such delightful flavors.

"Ah, such a marvelous taste!" Licking his lips, the taste of the food still lingering, Beerus felt slightly unfulfilled.

Considering the Saiyan's offerings, Beerus mused, "If this young Saiyan had such tasty morsels, surely the ruler of this planet must have even better delicacies!" With this thought, Beerus's somewhat listless spirits were reinvigorated.

"First, I’ll find the royal palace of this planet. There should be more delicacies there!"

With that, Beerus floated up and flew towards the direction of the palace, his golden eyes shimmering with a keen light.

...

In another dimension.

At the end of the long Snake Way, there was a vast expanse of space filled with a holy and peaceful aura, with pale yellow clouds dotting the cerulean sky.

Here lay a tiny planet, home to King Kai, who oversees the entire North Galaxy.

On King Kai's planet.

King Kai lay on the grass, nervously twitching like an ant on a hot pan, his lips trembling palely.

"Oh no, Lord Beerus has appeared on Planet Vegeta! If those Saiyans anger him, my North Galaxy is doomed again!" King Kai cried out, his emotions running high.

He remembered how vast his planet used to be until someone angered Lord Beerus, prompting the Destroyer to shatter it to its current size.

He desperately prayed, hands clasped together, hoping no one would provoke Beerus this time.

He couldn't bear the thought of losing his little remaining planet. If it were destroyed, where would he live? His reputation as King Kai would be utterly ruined, and he'd lose face in front of the other Kais.

King Kai continued to lay low, carefully monitoring the situation on Planet Vegeta.

Suddenly, a chilling glare seemed to pierce through space from Planet Vegeta, locking eyes with him and seemingly penetrating his soul...

King Kai screamed, jumping up with a terrified expression.

"This is bad, very bad, Lord Beerus has noticed me! I hope he's merciful and doesn't come here!" King Kai turned pale and trembled all over.

Panic-stricken, King Kai rushed into a small, low house on his planet. "Until Lord Beerus leaves the North Galaxy, I swear I'll stop watching the mortal realm!"
