Medieval Hexagon Pack, Released!

200+ Hexagon tiles and buildings, ready for your next awesome strategy game!

See link at the end of this post to download the asset pack :)

This is an early access version of the pack, there are currently no sample images or content overviews (yet), but the models and texture will be the same as the public release on itch (unless there are any issues with the files then I will fix those of course!)

Something new that is included with this is a user guide on using these assets. It covers some tips and tricks, but also explanations on how to use certain tiles. The guide will be expanded further before the public release, if you have any suggestions on things to add to the guide feel free to let me know!

Some examples below:

Would love to hear any feedback on the assets or the user guide. I've checked each asset carefully but there are a lot of them so I may have missed an issue, should you find something please let me know and I'll get it fixed as soon as possible.

This pack and its EXTRA + SOURCE versions are now live and available on itch! here:

Thank you all for your continued support 🌲

As a patreon supporter you get a fully rigged and animated 3D character model a month and early access to new packs. The majority of the assets are free for everyone to use, your patreon subscription makes it possible for me to spend hundreds of hours of assets for people to use for free. The EXTRA and SOURCE tiers are additional paid content.

Kay Lousberg

just a question... with the monthly supporter plan, do i have still have to buy this assets in itch.io?

Vulcano Trooper

Just FYI, the manual is unreadable in many Linux applications (I've tested Document Viewer, Calibre, E-Book Viewer, MComics, OpenComic). It's fully readable in Chromium, Firefox and YACReader. GIMP renders the vector layers properly, while Boxy SVG (no gradients) and Inkscape (no fonts) do not.

The pack went public on Friday, there were a few fixes to the pack so the zip is replaced by the itch link, at the bottom of the post. https://kaylousberg.itch.io/kaykit-medieval-hexagon

Kay Lousberg

I see no .zips or links. Link to zip is only visible in the email.

PerunZG

There's a .zip attached to the bottom of the post :)

Kay Lousberg

how do you donwload this pack?

Vulcano Trooper

Ah I think this was on my end after all, for some reason these were hidden even with 'show hidden items' turned on. I'm not sure how they got there or why they only appeared in the waterless folder, but they're deleted now and I uploaded a new .zip on this post. Thanks for letting me know :)

These are fantastic! Might be a cool expansion in the future, instead of doing the usual 'biomes' thing people do, to do some epic structures, or a villans/bad-guy version (like another race in an RTS)

I also see the desktop.ini files. Not problematic, just odd.

Silva

So sorry, should've double checked if it was in the original archive. They're not there, so it must be on my end. (got them after importing into unity, searches online seem to indicate it's something windows does) edit: just to answer the actual question i got them for some reason in "fbx (unity)/tiles/rivers/waterless" (same in coast), but it's probably nothing to do with you

Kay never disappoints. Even if I never deploy or animate a single character in a project... I am frickin' psyched everytime she drops new content (as we used to say when we were kids)

Jake Carvey

Just always top notch art - clever, inspiring, cute, technically on point. Love it!

Jake Carvey

Oh thanks for letting me know, I cannot find these files in my folders (yes I have hidden items turned on), could you let me know their exact location? Could it be something that got created on your end? Sorry if this is an inconvenience

Kay Lousberg

Going to try it in the next couple of days, maybe make a quick small game. They look great, always impressed by how you manage to set up the look in the presentation images. (noticed some Desktop.ini files in the waterless folders, not sure what those are for)

First ever patreon join, so worth it:)
