When Britta was looking to see if the baby's head had reached the cervix, there were doing a "2001 space odyssey" bit with either the same exact or similar music and the character staring into something magnificent/terrifying lol One of the reasons I love this show so much. They have so many references thrown in. I also don't get some of them because Harmon and the writers are Gen X, I believe and some references just went over my head. I think this was also their downfall. Back when Community was on air, most people didn't find it funny due to reference humor. Unless you are like Abed who knows everything about pop culture, it's not possible to get all of their jokes.
