Weekly Progress Update [01/JAN]

Whoo, first progress report of the year!! Hope everyone experiences a great 2023 in all areas of your life and that it'll be much kinder to us than 2022 was ✨

Some good news: I don't know what's in the water lately, whether it's just the relief of last year finally being over, but my writing pace has really kicked into gear the past week. I'm averaging 1k-2k words a day, which is pretty great!! We're heading up to 27k words now.

I'm also suspecting that I may surpass my previous estimate of 35k words if I don't keep a firm grip on how much content I want to insert because I am, once again, running away with the variations. 

In my defense, with the amount of plot choices that have been made so far, it's a bit unavoidable. This chapter more than any other is making me consider how many variations I want to write out, which subplots can be momentarily set aside, and which ones need to be set up now rather than later.

The LI subplots currently take definite precedence, even though they're a relatively smaller part of the chapter in comparison to everything else. To give you an idea, the Crown's training and tutoring classes average around 7k words on their own, the political chunk of the chapter is 11k words, and the remaining 9k is taken up by the LI POVs so far.

Anyway, I've decided to pick out a deadline that I need to stick to in order to finish this thing before uni gets busy again: I'm intending to have the final draft for CH10 finished by February 1st!

Even if I can't make this exact date and am a few days late, it'll still give the betas enough time to beta-read in order for all the early access Patreon/Ko-Fi releases to be in February. Especially since this chapter won't be a very big one. 

A modicum of self-control is one of my new year's resolutions for sure lol.

So, there you have it!! I'll be posting more CH10 previews throughout the coming weeks as I finish the rest of the chapter and fine-tune some scenes.
