Weekly Progress Update [10/JUL]

I'm pretty much recovering from Covid right now so I blame my Covid brain from last week for forgetting to post the Dev Sneak Peek. Instead I'll post it this Wednesday, and then you'll have D's snippet on Saturday this week to look forward to as well!

Schedule updates aside, I actually did manage to write a little bit while sick (I added 2k words for a total of 31k now), but I did more editing than anything else, to be honest. I think that was also very necessary because the chapter was getting a little bloated with exposition.

Speaking of which, I've been working on the codex entries especially this week! 

First, CH9 is when you''ll be getting a codex entry on the Imperial Court (for those with tier 2+ benefits, it's essentially the same information as was posted in the Dev Sneak Peek from last time, but slightly shortened). The current codex entry is 1k words long. So, it has a lot of info, but it's arguably also the most relevant codex entry for the Crown going forward. I think it'd be better for readers to have it all at hand in the codex instead of just making people memorize it all.

Also, I've decided to retroactively add character codex entries to the various groups the Crown has already been introduced to: the Crescent Blades, the Palace Servants, the Imperial Guards, and Arsur's nobility as a faction. 

Initially I planned to add all these codex entries in later, but the way the story is pacing right now, I think it's better to add in the first time you meet each faction. It'd be very weird to get a codex entry for Siham and Ishrah like 1 month after your Crown has already been hanging out with them lmao. So that's another thing to add to my to-do list for the CH9 release! 

For people with a save file in CH8, you'll have to remember to open up the character codex to read them because there won't be a notification in-game, as you would've technically "unlocked" it already haha.

That's it for this week. I don't have much big progress to report back on yet unfortunately. Hopefully the rest of July will be more productive now that I'm healthy again 😩
