No Charge for This Month

Hey everyone,

First of all, congratulations to the winners of the Thing concepts! After taking another skim of them, there are a few more (as usual) winners because picking became difficult between the top 3, so now it's top 5.

JSlobber - Offseason hole in the wall island resort has the Thing land. This was maybe the most vivid to me because it feels like the most realistic sequel it could have had in the 80s. Remote tropics instead of ice, ability to have similar types of characters, a gimmick that could use water, and if it was a knock-off/straight to video release it has potential for the Thing to murder or become beach babes.

Ian D
- The Thing is delivered by mistake to an isolated Waffle House and thaws out in the walk-in freezer. This writes itself really.

footfetish69 - The Thing's "final form" is mimicking an entire planet's ecosystem and biomass, similar to Dead Space 3 brethren moons, but here the only goal is to look appealing to spacefaring civilizations and then trying to devour all of the colony's biomass once it's big enough.

Ashlyn B. - Pompeii, explains the lack of evidence in a better way Darkest of Days did, and the famous "two maidens" are just the Thing.

ErebusReactorEngineer - Air Bud crossover. Weirdly enough I had thought of something similar already, as the original Buddy died after the first movie, and Air Bud 2 is about 3 different dogs for the stunts. I imagined the original Buddy coming back as an undead dog, but needing to take down other golden retrievers to try to disguise himself as them for a while until the fursuit wears out and he needs a new one. Except he'd just still be doing it to play every sport on the planet, and Erebus had a concept for real Air Bud vs shapeshifting Thingbud for bowling. They never did bowling.

Also on my end more wrenches have been thrown into things alongside the continuing Problems, which does suck when the video was close to release, but it's clear it wouldn't happen without things being rushed in a bad way, so there's no charge for this period. Obviously credits and all that will still carry over, and if you're on the annual membership it just skips a month and gives an extra. I still can't get into details of what all's going on, but a lot will make more sense in time. When SOMA does come there'll be more of a frequent upload period for a while, along with some changes to the Patreon page in general that will either go along with that or be shortly after, since my focus is on videos themselves to catch up with the upload gap rather than going too hard thinking about "the systems" and all that.

Thanks as always for your support.

Nah. Don't worry about it, man. I subscribe to the Patreon to support you, not in exchange for new videos. Take your time, I'm looking forward to anything you make, whenever it arrives.

How fucking dare you cancel my subscription. I pay so that I have a smug self of satisfaction among my peers. Now I have been robbed of this I must exist, purposeless.

GenghisPrawn

If you need extra time then take it. You always put out quality so it will be worth the wait.

Critterfreak

Looking forward to the video when it's ready, if delays happen they happen. Keep up the great work Mandalore.

Nomads-of-Korsun
