Moving Update (and more)

Good afternoon!

So I didn't want to say anything until it was a done deal, but I'm moving out of my apartment. It's been a long hunt to get to this point, especially with the neighbors getting louder and weirder to the point it was interfering with my recording times, but I got a place that will be significantly quieter since it's a house with some seclusion. I'm also going to be out of the country in London for a week for my other job, so when I get back I'll be getting the move finalized. It's possible the new video will come before the end of the month, but if not with everything happening it'll be early September. My hope was that things would be coming out a lot more rapidly in the middle of the year, and this was just part of one ongoing thing that had been eating up a lot of time, but when this is all done I think I'll be able to work on videos a lot more efficiently not needing to time it to mainly night hours and dealing with screaming kids etc.

So as for the poll, that'll likely be next round, since I'm pretty solidified on the next video and it'll be the one after that's going to be a question, especially since it's going to get closer to Halloween and I'll need to get started on all that fun. So if things seem quieter on the public (or Patreon?) front over the next month or so, it's not that nothing's going on, I'm just going to be fairly swamped. For reference the place I got was at a significant discount due to it being a "project", including some things like non-grounded gas lines, missing smoke and CO2 detectors, some wood rot, mysterious unidentified goo in unfinished basement walls etc, so a lot is being done before I get into it to make it more livable, but it'll be pretty nice when all is said and done. There was a lot putting off people from buying the house which ended up being appealing to me, including lots of strange geometry and a missing initial owner, so it's a bit of a story in itself. A lot was installed by what appear to be aliens in a "this is how human fixtures work" kind of way, and every day has been new surprises, but nothing too crazy.

Though obviously what matters most here is that I'll be able to have a recording space not directly above what I suspect has been a neighborhood drum circle for a few years.

So the next video is on the way, and things should pick up for the end of the year.

Thanks as always for your support!

Mandy are you okay? Are you okay? Are you okay Mandy?

I can suggest a power move if you live in communal living again. My neighbors were in danger of getting kicked out out because their Indian food was too strong. I set them up with an exhaust fan system, get at cost fantastic Indian food and I'm pretty sure at this point they are ride or die with me. I also managed to teach them that medium rare is the best steak and the gray hockey pucks they used to eat are a crime against humanity.

Magicide

Used to work exclusively on live 240v circuits, I do not take any gambles with electricity. I've seen some sletchy stuff in my brief career.

No more coyotes & witches I guess

StuffyEvil

I remember my old apartment years ago had neighbors that I swear were pro wrestlers at night, and practiced for a marching band by day. Glad you're finding a new place Mando. Good Luck.

Nomads-of-Korsun

My friend got a house several years ago, and it was a fun experience. When we started to check the electricity it turned out that half the switches didn't turn anything on or off, and half the lights couldn't be turned on by any switches. And there was no one who would have any idea how the wiring worked, we had to check it all ourselves.

George Sedov

Yeah absolutely get wiring and such inspected. As someone who was electrocuted and lucky enough that the one good thing the previous owner of my house was install the legally mandated RCDs I can't emphasise it enough.

The moment you start recording in your new basement studio, and you see the EV meter flicker, but you've not said anything. You take off your headset and press your ear to the ground. It's the drums Mandy! The coven has followed you! You can still hear them beneath your feet in the solid earth!

Anthony Bardill

Exactly, he's genre-aware.

Twit In A Hat

"Strange geometry and a missing owner," sir you have played so many horror games and I'm pretty sure you've read plenty of Lovecraft, surely you see where this leads

Congratulations on the new place dude! Hope London is also fun in addition to the obligations you'll have there. Best of luck with the transition. Hope everything goes as smooth as possible

If you didn't get the electrical inspected, I recommend you do so. My brother also got a project house and shit was sketchy, found 3 things was were going to start a house fite sooner than later

Scott LaPointe

Is swear to God Mandy, you're putting yourself in these fucked up situations now. I guess it's content for the podcast lmao

matt

Is that not how human fixtures work?

Nineteen-Sixty-Seven Ford Mustang

As a human I can confirm this is how human fixtures work.

Looking forward to the review of the house renovations and history in the style of a horror adventure

Can't wait for the 'Shit, my house is haunted' updates. Gonna make for some great Halloween content. But seriously, glad you found a quiet place. Noisy, inconsiderate neighbors are the worst.

Andrew M.

Bro is moving into a backrooms "House of Leaves." Style home and is excited about it. Never change, Mandalore, never change.

Matthew Shaffer

Nice! Good Luck with the new place
