October Goings

Good evening!

I'm back from Alaska, which ended up with me getting some kind of infection which is mostly out of me now. I unfortunately still sound a bit like a frog as I'm coughing the remains out so I haven't able to do video voiceover, but that doesn't mean I've been idle.

I've been playing a good amount of shorter horror games since getting back, and ended up recording the entire Penumbra Trilogy so that should be good for editing at some point either this month or the next. I've had an itch to go back through Frictional's catalog and I've always been tempted to talk about Penumbra on and off over the years so this would be a good chance. Ghost Master is still the imminent priority, and having made contact with the Complete Mod staff there IS gonna be some fun developments there, so I'm holding off a bit on getting into the nitty gritty of editing that for reasons other than sickness. I'm still aiming to have the video out next week since it should be a fairly shorter one.

I think I have nailed down what the Halloween video will be, though it'll be a shorter compared to the others. I haven't run out of candidates of adventure games that are an assault on the senses, and the chosen game absolutely fits into the category of "I cannot believe what I'm seeing", but the campaign is on the shorter side and there aren't many characters. Plus after the Stasis games it has been a bit traditional adventure heavy on the channel, but I'm also  thinking of maybe doing a second adventure game nearer to the holidays in case people are just looking for pure brain destruction. As I said before, it can get tricky, since some games are so batshit incomprehensible making videos out of them can be difficult to balance out. I also definitely don't want to set a pattern of trying to "out crazy" the last Halloween video since that's just not feasible over time, but I do try to aim for stuff that's unexpected. This one is one of my favorite funny bad games, and somehow, I actually never had it on the list after all these years. I'm actually shocked I haven't done something on it earlier, but it's one of the apexes of action.

So all I know for sure is Ghost Master is next! It's likely I'll do an extended Halloween again where some horror games get covered through November to do some catchup, but Sins is still on the docket is well. I'll be kept busy.
