Progress Report

Whew. Sorry about taking longer than usual to make a progress report folks. I lost considerably more time to Easer Weekend than I'd expected to. And, just for good measure, allergy season has finally hit me like a brick to the face and I've been trying to cope with taking all the allergy meds and still not feeling great. Anyway, news is...kinda rough, but not horrible? Let's take a look.

Left Hand Magic

So, I shifted gears a little bit away from my original planning. Originally, I was going to bullrush as much of the first two weeks of the harem route as possible. When I, around the time of the last progress report, took a good look at the intro/prologue content though? Well, I decided I didn't want to leave that to be just a repeat of what everyone has already played through a minimum of four times to unlock the Harem Route.

As such, after I finished all of Week 1, including the first Weekend Event, I diverted attention to kludging together some variant material for the Intro/Prologue. While some of it will remain the same, only shortened a bit to be a little less boring as a repeat, I've also come up with some variant events that will shake things up enough to not have everyone just power clicking through (hopefully). That includes a different early masturbation animation for the MC, and some lewder variants to the early game introductions to the various girls. It was something that I think needed doing, but which means I didn't get to anything in Week 2 this time.

Anyway, I only have a couple of stills left, possibly one more animation if I decide to replace the Talia-blowjob rather than just streamlining it. Still waffling on that one, as it's honestly one of the cleaner animations in the early game. Enough so that I've put off retouching it since it's only real issue is a slight hitch in the loop. Anyway, rendering is largely finished, so I'm not too far off schedule despite the abrupt priority change.

Mixed Media Short(Virtual Trap 12)

News is a little worse here, but still not terrible. Rendering fought me a lot more than usual this time around, so I ended up cutting some content to get rendering done on time. There will still be around 18 new images and a repeat or two. It's more a matter of not quite getting as much story in as I'd hoped. Still, I am done with the renders and will be spending an hour or two tonight doing the post processing on them. Writing will probably be tomorrow, with edit/posting on the 25th.

Short Story

Ahhhhhh. Writing projects have sort of kicked my ass this month. I rarely experience writer's block, that tends to be more of a newbie writer problem, as anyone that has needed to write on deadlines for a few years tends to find brute force solutions that break through it 95% of the time. Unfortunately, the 5% remains, and the brute force solutions generally take extra tiem, too. I experienced a nasty bit of it with a project earlier this month that completely F'ed my usual writing schedule sideway and upside down. As a result, I didn't get to the Short Story when I'd hoped to, and barely have anything done on it.

Worse, I'm going to have to focus on the other bits if I hope to get them done on time. Meaning there's a decent chance this month will see the first Short Story delay in quite some time. Still, I'll remind you that it is only a delay. I've never once failed to eventually deliver a reward, so far as I know. It just might drag a bit into May unless things go super smoothly with Virtual Trap and Left Hand Magic.

Comments

Like I said, it's a RARE issue for me. In this particular case, a writing project I was working on that had a deadline got stuck because it's a super Happy work. I was dealing with burnout and couldn't summon the mindset needed, and the result dominoed on everything else.

I have to admit, that when you were a little late, much of this was kind of expected, but writers block? That was really a surprise, since you seem to always have pretty much endless creativity πŸ€”. No pressure though. Even though I have finished every route in LHM, I have a ways to go in the stories so... no pressure from me πŸ™‚.
