That scene with Arf and Fate was touching. Yeah, having the visual novel as backstory for the family makes them feel much more "real". They also do a good job of making all Nanoha's family look distinct but clearly related (especially via the hair styles). It's interesting that we have three families interacting (since Chrono's mother is the Captain).
