I'm also pretty sleep-deprived, so seeing that plane fall to pieces, before seeing Ishii safe, broke something inside that I didn't know was there. Since my teen years, I'd had a vivid existential dread of the end of humanity and it's various cultures. The concept of witnessing the "last" plane and "last" aviator" fall from the sky stirred up an old nightmare of mine, wherein I am alone with no hope of speaking to another person ever again. I'm not good with "endings," especially ones I make up n my head.
