IMPORTANT: Patreon Tier/Price Changes & Foundry Integration

Note: If you are currently in the 5€ Supporter tier, you don't need to do anything and will keep paying this cheaper price for as long as you stay subscribed!

One day i would like to add the Foundry-Patreon integration to make it easier for everyone to install and update my modules, unfortunatelly at the moment it's impossible due to the cost of the service. While it's a great business model for map makers, for my most popular 5€ tier it's not going to work. As always i've been transparent with the financial aspect of this project so i'll give you the numbers to see for yourself why these changes are needed.

The Problem

An average subscription is 5€, After the patreon cut and taxes, this becomes roughly 2.5€, the cost for the Foundry integration is 1€ per subscriber.  A very easy math will tell you that it will almost cut 50% of my profits as due to my current tax bracket these expenses are applied after tax.

Once i jump to the higher tax bracket, i'll be able to pay this integration before tax, making it more reasonable. Unfortunatelly the higher tax bracket also has higher taxation. With the Foundry integration, of the 5€ of one subscription, after taxes, patreon cut and integration it would leave roughly 1€ so even worse than before.

The Solution

Of curse the solution is obvious, raise prices. That said, i still want to give back to all the supporters that helped me reach the point i'm at right now so i thought hard on how to solve this issue while still giving back to the community.

The Changes

The 5€ supporter tier will stay at 5€! But, it will be limited to 1000 subscribers, in this way, everyone that has been an avid supporter can keep getting all the benefits ( including Foundry-Patreon integration) forever! This tier will be renamed Supporter - Early Bird.

The new Supporter tier will be priced at 7.50€ from now on.

In Conclusion

The Foundry integration will not come right now, as the finances are not there yet to support it, but a goal is set for 2500 subscribers to make that integration a reality.

When this goal is reached both the 5€ and the 7.50€ tiers will get the integration with the subscription.

Stressing this more, there is no difference in what you get from the 2 tiers!

Note: The Foundry\Patreon integration is exclusive, i can't have a tier specific for it for who wants to pay extra!

This is by no means a rant or a critique of the Foundry Business model, it's just not right for me under the current situation partly due to my low prices and partly due to the terrible tax policies of my country!
