Such a fun battle and it's really cool seeing Molly again!
Comments
Molly! Finally confirming once and for all that she indeed comes from the family of Joy-sans was certainly good to see.
And... of course, giving Tebrim a central chance to shine in yet another Molly focused episode is also good!
But now... with the mysterious Exceed building in the midst of a forest as well as those odd battle spheres or whatever being teased... what will happen next? To be continued next week!
- 1:55: I did hear that Molly's mom is voiced by the VA of Unova Joy-sans in the anime in contrast to how the Joy-sans in this series are all voiced by the same VA as Molly herself in Kei Shindo.
- 5:36: Uirou City is another anime original place (there are kinda implications by the selection of Pokémon that we've been in Johto since episode 92, but nothing direct). Uirou is a delicacy from Kyoto which is named after an old medicine which ties into the theme of the episode.
- 17:25: In fact... aside from Sango using Terastal on Onipurin... this is the first time that we have seen Terastal on a non partner Pokémon in Horizons.
- 20:00: And Healing Wish is a move which further solidifies Tebrim's role as a supporting Pokémon on Liko's team.
- 20:59: Keep that one about those Spheres in mind.
- 21:29: Very much due to Molly's role as a mobile Pokémon Center until now in this series at least... we haven't seen so many Pokémon Centers.
- 22:53: Yeah, I remember a moment in Journeys when Ash's Pikachu did the same thing on its own.
- 27:13: Yeah, the Rakurium Spheres Spinel used to make the Six Heroes (minus Rayquaza) go berserk. But... the Spheres mentioned here are apparently "handy in battle" which doesn't quite line up with the effects of Rakurium directly.
Episode Staff:
- Written by series script coordinator 松澤くれは (Kureha Matsuzawa) who previously wrote the previous episode (93) with Nyabiko.
- Storyboarded by 浅田裕二 (Yūji Asada) and 小林一三 (Ichizō Kobayashi). Asada appears extraordinary after previously storyboarding and directing Masaaki Iwane's previous Solo KA episode (92 - the Steelix battle) and Kobayashi previously debuted as anipoke storyboarder on episode 91 (the Beginning of Chapter 5 Part 2).
- Directed by 野田泰宏 (Yasuhiro Noda) who previously storyboarded and directed episode 58 (the Kingambit noodle episode).
- Animation-directed by:
萩原慶汰 (Keita Hagiwara) - previously AD on episode 89 (the devastating finale of Rayquaza Rising)
服部奈津美 (Natsumi Hattori) - previously AD on episode 90 (the Kekking battle as the beginning of Mega Voltage)
酒井裕未 (Hiromi Sakai) - previously AD on episode 86 (the RVT vs the Explorers in Rakua)
松本めぐみ (Megumi Matsumoto) - previously AD on episode 88 (vs the White Zygarde)
志村泉 (Izumi Shimura) - previously AD on episode 92
Entire studios credited as animation directors:
ル ラフォート (Lu Laforte) - previously AD on episode 93
えりある (A-Real) - previously AD on episode 93
- This is a standard in-house episode which manages to look consistently all around and even have decent action. One of the central core action animators of the series is also on such a small scale episode for once after a long time and that is 安田周平 (Shūhei Yasuda) who also animated the small bit during this week's Mega Gurumin segment.
- In general, just like the previous in-house episode (93), a refreshing cooldown from all the action heavy in-house episode we've had during the previous cour.
