ALL STAR Game - Building the Table

Hello, Everyone!

Space Marine Steve signing on and calling all of our guest producers for one last call before Tak and I throw down on Monday night! We need to build a table! The game has a business sponsor which means we need to keep in mind what terrain we are choosing; while we want a good game, it is our job to showcase the sponsor as well. Frontline Gaming has sponsored the game and we are going to be using Frontline Gaming battle mats and some of their terrain that we have in the studio!

The Right Table for the Right Game

When you're choosing the table you want to use, it is good to keep in mind what armies are being played (their colours) and what kinds of units are in the armies. For example, if one army is entirely based on charging and close combat, you want to avoid an abundance of craters as they slow charge moves and could make the game unfair. In contrast, what if one player is playing Imperial Knights, you need to make sure that there is enough room and the table isn't too crowded because you want the knights to beable to move around.

Additionally, it is important to think about the colours of the armies (in this case, blue and green) and the colours of the terrain. While your picking the table you would like to see, think about the aesthetic of the game and the tone that the terrain will create in the cinematography. There is a lot of thought that goes in to picking the right table for the right game.
