The How To for How To

We really wanted to be part of the whole buzz and excitement around #new40k because we are big fans of it and what has been happening in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

THE JOURNEY TO HOW TO PLAY ON WARHAMMER 40K 9TH EDITION FOR BEGINNERS

With the release of the Indomitus box set and kicking off 9th we knew this past weekend, July 25-26th, 2020, were a big deal and we got to working on how we could be part of that.  While we are not on the Games Workshop early access list we have ties with local stores and knew they would let us use their in-store demo copies.

July 11th to 12th
With the in-store demo copy sprues in hand from The Garage: Games & Geekery in Maple Ridge, BC, Canada we got to work on assembling and priming all of it.  ALL OF IT.  Tycho, JT, and Tak split up the work.

Tycho and JT also managed to fit in a practice game this weekend to prepare themselves for the upcoming Production day.

Week of July 13th
Tak had a matter of days to paint up the entire box set for film days on Friday, July 17th (9th Edition Battle Report) and Saturday, July 18th (9th Edition How To Play).  Working a 9am to 5pm and painting in the evenings the original goal of 3x armies was not achieved (sorry Ad Mech fans) and it was decided that the Ultramarines would again be on the channel, utilizing the new Indomitus models.

July 17th and 18th
Filming for our two new 9th edition shows happened here.  Each shoot was 5+ hours during an incredibly hot (for BC) weekend.

July 19th
This entire day was spent shooting cinematic scenes and photographs for both shows.  We really have a lot of fun with these shoots!

July 20 to 26
We lived at our computers.  Juggling our day jobs with Play On two editors went to town on each respective show.  Graphics were made on the fly.  Coffee was consumed in buckets.

The How To edit was an opportunity to grow.  We had collected feedback from the How to 8th edition and set out to make a better video.  While we really enjoyed having the new player in our 8th edition video, we knew to put in more rules and content into this video we needed two people seasoned enough to go through a set of rules they had only a handful of games with.

July 27
Admittedly, the video has some errors.  Admittedly, we could have spent another week finessing the video.   However we are too excited for all the 9th content we want to make for you so we stuck to our weekend (ish) launch and will soon be launching 40k in 40m Episode 5 and have already started work on armies to head into production for Episode 6.

So, the Video is live and we hope you enjoy it.  Without Patreon support we wouldn't be able to put as much resources as we do into our Video Projects.  Thank you!
