Hello Patrons! Through the challenges of today we are steadily completing two new episodes of 40k in 40m, which were part of kicking off Season 2. Both these episodes were shot in late February / early March before our nation took measures due to COVID-19. It took a lot longer to edit both due to two factors, one of which we will cover in this post.
40k in 40m went through an evolution based off the feedback from its predecessor, 40k in 30m, and here are some sneak peaks.

INFORMATION SCREENS
Information Screens to provide clarity are now part of our template and we hope this allows the information to be clear and concise while we cut down a game from 3 hours to 40 minutes (ish).

SCORE TRACKER
Our biggest addition that is now included through out our videos is the inclusion of a score tracker. This was a common request and we see how it adds value to the watching experience.

PHASE TITLES
We redesigned the way we introduce what phase the players are entering.

Stratagems
Using a new template we can ensure Stratagem titles and descriptions are clear and readable. We try to include every use of stratagems in the game and this will be shown with these info screens as well as an update to the score tracker.

UNIT IDENTIFICATION
This one remains a work in-progress. We are hoping to provide more clarity on what unit is performing an action through the use of visual guides. This has been tough to utilize over the course of an entire game due to sheer volume of work so for now it may just be exclusively used if we feel its necessary or the player was unclear.
IT IS A LOT OF WORK
We truly want to create worthwhile content that fans of tabletop gaming, and possibly future fans, will want to watch beginning to end. The upgrade in 40k in 40m's visuals represents our desire to put in the extra effort for our supporters and subscribers. We are pursuing new heights and exploring new ideas and with that comes the investment of time. We did not expect the new graphics to add as much as it did to our workflow and edit times, which we venture a guess are the longest in the industry.
I think the new graphics took about 20+ hours to design. We knew we wanted to hit a new visual level so we upgraded our photography set up during production to ensure we got high grade shots of the models. This adds another 45-minutes to the shoot and another 1-2 hours in post production. Experimenting and Implementing the new visual set for me, as the slower of the two editors, added another 20 hours to the edit time, though I see that diminishing greatly for future edits. While I had a desire to get this edit out sooner with COVID-19 and some life changes it took longer than expected. I want to thank everyone for their support and patience during these times and I look forward to showing you what our team has done for Necrons vs Blood Angels in the near future.

Necrons vs Blood Angels, a 1750 point battle, will be the second episode to release this year after Ultramarines vs Forces of the Hive Mind. As Patrons, you will get early access to both shows before they are released on Youtube. Stay safe, all!
