So far, so good. And... now... we wait. Girls und Panzer - das Finale Part 4. Especially the scene down the mountain slope really impressed me. When an anime has a long action scene without much dialogue or still frames, it always is nice to see. A repeated theme of these movies is passing the commanding torch to the next generation... and we see it here in full force as well! Good on Azusa for Oarai, good on Erika (whose birthday was on March 6th by the way... one day after Sodoku) for Black Forest and good on Orange Pekoe for St. Gloriana! - 2:48: Good riddance to see that same Bandai Namco logo as on Hyakkano S2. lol - 4:34: For that matter, ChouCho did also perform the TV Girls und Panzer anime OP, "DreamRiser" as well as the ending song of der Film, "piece of youth". *and looks up their page* Konosuba is not correct for them though. - 6:58: Only exceptions to that would be their first friendship match against St. Gloriana in episode 4 of the TV anime and the exhibition match with Chihatan against St. Gloriana and Pravda in the first part of the der Film. Those were directly in Oarai itself. - 12:08: And then, this movie throws the curveball and lifts up the rest of the Oarai Senshado team and especially Azusa Sawa, Commander of the Rabbit Team aka. the kouhais. - 20:10: I be wondering how long it will take for that tank in such a weird position to be towed away. - 22:03: LOL with the helicopter in real life. - 24:22: I believe so with the eyes for the first time on Nekonya's part... and those are some cool eyes. - 24:49: ^^ - 28:29: Yee, Sodoku looks a bit like she is wearing glasses like that. - 38:24: I mean who can blame you for not having the overview over this chaotic fast-paced rundown down a mountain? - 44:03: Yes, Sodoku... tell me more about that kind of punishment. - 47:55: You know... perhaps you should have guessed that the movie would only reveal Alice's school at the very last moment of that match considering that her reveal makes it obvious who will win story-wise. - 49:19: That prim, proper and yet arrogant tone and way of speaking... it is basically the same general kind of tone I remember from Mimimi in Hyakkano, I suppose. - 50:25: YEAH, the subtitles. - 55:41: Seems like you didn't catch at first that both flag tanks were taken out in such quick succession here that the match wasn't called until both were down. - 56:09: Exactly... it's a full circle moment with St. Gloriana High School. I have seen quite a few media going with the kind of Ouroboros style of going around to the beginning at the end. - 58:29: Yeah, for an English Sub release of any sorts after the BD release of the next movie... it's at the very least early 2026 right now if the next movie comes out in Japan this year. It's always been every two years so far for the das Finale movies after all. - 59:00: I am consistently impressed by the quality and schedule of this production. Like... for instance, these movies have only main animation director, one (or sometimes two) storyboarders (director always being in himself) and barley any 2nd Key Animation (this movie not at all actually...; 2nd Key Animation is a role which comes to play if the actual key animators can't finish their cuts in time in their entirety and some missing or rough elements need to draw out by others). - 1:01:11: Considering that we didn't have any Slice of Life scenes in this movie... I would not be surprised if the first half of the next movie was all Slice of Life like it was in the first part of das Finale and then start the match in the second half and then make the final movie full on action again.

2025-03-08 21:23:03 +0000 UTC-Oara needs to win against ST Gloriana to close the history Gloriana girls won against oarai in the first match and in derl film too -There is a lot of non alcoholic drinks in this movie for some reason Rum was drinking Bocordi, not Bacardí (Oso de Oro) -This march 16th there is an garupan evento in Oarai, the seiiyus will be there and maybe they anounce Das Final 5 for this year. -GuP really does a good work with "Show, dont tell" -This movie was released in Japan in 4DX cinemas, the chairs moves, thats why this movie was more like a "roller coaster" -Momo has now the chance to be in charge. -Most of us think the World Championship isnt gonna happen, because most of the battles takes 2 movies, so Das finale 5 will be half slice of life and half battle, Das finale 6 will be full combat just like Das FInale 4

2025-03-08 02:20:34 +0000 UTCThe rise of Azusa Sawa. Commander of the Rabbit Team, and the girl who was promoted to overall commander for this match after Momo's team got knocked out. You might remember that Rabbit Team is a team of 6 girls in their first year of high school. They've improved a lot since their very first match, the friendly against St Gloriana in episode 4, where they all abandoned their tank and ran away on foot (Azusa Sawa was the only one who wanted to stay, running after the other 5 girls yelling "Wait! Don't run away!"). BUT, I guess watching all those old war movies really paid off, because Azusa's skill at Senshado has gradually grown throughout the show, and she's made some key strategic calls... You might remember some of her achievements: - Episode 12, "Operation Kelly's Heroes". Her plan to drive around in small alleyways in order to get behind the enemy while leaving it stuck since it can't rotate in such narrow roads, which allowed Rabbit Team to defeat one of Black Forest's tank destroyers. - In the same episode, they successfully destroyed another TD by luring it to fall into a spillway and land upside down. Unfortunately the TD got a shot off before it fell and knocked Rabbit Team out as well - In the Anzio OVA, Azusa has Rabbit Team make use of the dual gun setup on the M3 Lee to operate a makeshift auxiliary predictor, essentially using one gun to correct their aim, then make the killing shot with their 2nd gun. - In der Film, when Saki (the airhead on their team) points at the Ferris wheel, Azusa is the first to think to shoot it's supports to drop it. - Also in der Film, after discovering that their tank fares poorly when toe-to-toe with enemy heavy tanks, Azusa instead keys on their tanks effectiveness at hunting down light tanks. In their newfound role as "light tank killer", Rabbit Team makes short of two Chaffee tanks, saving the surrounded CV.33. Unfortunately, this is when they meet Alice, who has decided to join the match and take out any Oarai girls along her way. - In das Finale 03 vs Chihatan when being chased by 2 tanks, she had her main gun face backwards (so each gun is facing a different direction), and had her driver turn the tank sideways, and on her 2nd signal to fire both guns. This resulted in the defeat of one of the two, and an extra shot took out the 2nd tank. Unfortunately that 2nd tank also got a shot off and took out Rabbit Team. - Obviously in das Finale 04, she effectively leads the team to victory after both Anglerfish Team (Miho) and Turtle Team (Momo) are knocked out. And at the very end, Azusa executes another one of her movie-inspired plans, "Operation Tom Horn", taking out one of Continuation's last tanks and sacrificing themselves in the process.

2025-03-07 20:49:25 +0000 UTCOorai school has its own "map." This is the town of Oorai from Episode 4 or the beginning of the film. The desert battlefield is very German-British. Especially since they made Erika a reference to Erwin "Desert Fox" Rommel. :D The whole battle between St. Gloriana and Kuromorimine is one big reference to the campaign in Africa. Alice in the "British" school was obvious, she used a British tank all the time. In addition, St. Gloriana is the only school (of the main ones) that Oorai has not yet defeated.

2025-03-07 20:38:22 +0000 UTCI used to tell myself and others that I'm just in it for the tanks, but dear god over the years I've grown so emotionally invested in this story and characters. It's kinda like JoJo. I don't take it seriously and it doesn't take itself seriously, but it can still hit you with just the right amount of concentrated feels and at this point nostalgia. So yeah, we're almost at the end. Pretty sure that's what Oda said about One Piece about 5 years ago as well though.

2025-03-07 20:35:19 +0000 UTCHuh. I've never been part of that Discord but that's pretty much the same conclusion I came to about Kuromorimine and St. Gloriana. At the start of Das Finale however my "final boss" prediction was Continuation High School, just because the one time we saw them in action they fielded a single tank and delivered one of the craziest scenes in the whole series. I thought that would make for an absolutely bombastic finale, but now with Alice joining what is pretty much our biggest hurdle I'm super excited for what's to come.

I was part of a Girls und Panzer Discord a while ago (still exist but is kinda dead) and in it we had a channel dedicated to doing wacky predictions about the result of the current tournament. I mean, we all know Ooarai will win at the end but there's fun in play a litte pretend. //. Anyway, in that discord it became a hot topic who would be the best final opponent for Ooarai depending if their last opponent was Kuromorimine or St. Gloriana narratively speaking. If Kuromorimine were to face Ooarai in thr last match then, we theorized, it would've been narrative interesting to have Ooarai loose thus closing Erika's arc. But if St Gloriana were to face Ooarai then is also narrative interesting bc Ooarai has never defeated the british before, and now with Alice leading is more of a over due rematch than ever before
