You noticed all the fun differences; despite the second guessing, I don't think you misremembered anything. And yes, Misato starts as a Lieutenant Colonel here and only went from Captain to Major in the tv anime. An interesting thing I noticed on the rewatch was that the angel fought with Kensuke and Toji explodes into goop rather than remaining around to be researched like it did in the original. Also, I actually recommend watching the preview at the end of 2.0.

2024-11-19 03:13:05 +0000 UTCYeah the changes to Ramiel (the shape-shifting angel) are really incredible. It's weird because there's so many scenes from this movie that are iconic and I only remembered recently aren't in the original show.
