January - Focus Poll

Alright, folks! The main poll this month is pretty cut and dry. We're now into the final stretch for each of the six current routes, with just the Council Meeting and then a fairly involved epilogue for each still to go. I've picked out Trix as the first one to work on, just because I have to start somewhere and she's usually a popular choice. But the order I work on the rest of the routes is subject to this poll! Frankly, I have no idea how many of them I'll get done this month! So, vote for your favorite route and hope I get to it, simple as that! Obviously, since I'm starting with Trix while the poll runs, she's not an option in the poll.

I've actually been planning to address that topic at some point, but haven't done so yet as I'm still sort of sorting things out. Left Hand Magic is the first game I've made that I'm intending to actually sell on Steam once it reaches completion. I think, in truth, a lot of future plans are going to be determined on if it does decently there. (As for a vacation, I'll be pausing the Patreon for a month as some point, while I handle the Steam release, which will sort of be a vacation, if you squint really hard.) At one point, the Patreon was steadily but slowly growing, and I could see a future in it by itself. At this point, though, support has been steadily declining. I lost something like a third of my total Patronage when someone leaked the Patron release links one month, and sadly it never recovered. The fact that the Visual Novel space is starting to drown in AI created games hasn't helped, and I have doubts that the Patreon on it's own will ever be viable to support myself with again. If the game sells even half decently on Steam, that changes the equation a lot, and I'll likely start up a new game. I have oodles of drawn up game concepts to pick from, and the infusion of funding would let me both do hardware upgrades and potentially shift to a better-looking engine/animation option than Daz3D, which I know off-puts a fair number of people that see too much Daz3D content. Even if my models and animation are a firm cut above most Daz games, a lot of people never even give it the chance because of the mountains of trash out there using the same general style of models. If the game doesn't do well...I'm afraid that it will likely be time to shut down my attempts to make this work. I recently turned 39, so I'm not exactly getting any younger, and even both of my Patreons combined barely make a living wage. So, if it fails on Steam, it will be a case of 'time to face reality' and turn my time and attention elsewhere. That would be sad, given how many years I've poured into this already. But sunk cost fallacy is a thing.

I have no clue if this is the space to ask, and maybe you answered what I want to ask somewhere else but I didn't see it... Do you have any ideas if you'll be working on another project like this one? I really enjoyed Chastity Quest, and while I think I remember you saying you likely wouldn't return to Eros Academy, I always felt like it had really good potential. Although, if you do choose to work on another project, I hope you take a vacation first!

Well, it's a good problem to have versus only liking half the game, right :-)?

I always have so much trouble with these polls. I play every route in this game and I like them all. Do I really have a favorite? Yes, the one I am playing at the time 😏. Oh, that helps so much 😄.
